DescriptionSpecificationsQuestions & Answers
Many of us have suffered the inconvenience of pens drying up after a long period of not using them. The problem is especially common for fountain pens, which require almost daily use to prevent drying. Platinum has devised a solution. Its Plaisir fountain pen has an innovative cap that prevents ink from drying even if the pen goes un-used for a year. As buzzed about in World News and other news sources, this technology makes the Plaisir pen suitable for both everyday and occasional use. Not only does it save you from the hassle of a dryout, but it also reduces ink waste.

The elegant pen body is made of aluminum with a silky, scratch-resistant anodized coating.

One black ink cartridge is included.

A very nice pen for the price, looks more expensive than it is. That being said, it feels very light in hand, and that makes it feel... a bit cheap. I like a bit of heft with my pens. The gunmetal is by far the nicest colour choice in the line. Writes smooth and easy. The deal sealer for me was the special cap that prevents ink dry-out for a year. The appearance of the pen is wonderful. The price based on appearance is correct. Unfortunately, the metal look is not an accurate depiction of the material. It feels like plastic and seems very similar to the platinum preppy pens. I have no issues with the performance of the pen, but it is very light and the cool metallic appearance does not justify the price difference with the Platinum preppy pens.

This writing performance of this pen for the price is great. I bought the converter, and in two fillings, I haven't had a skip yet. The action is reasonably smooth. There is just a slight amount of gritty feel, but not enough to bother me. The only reason for not giving it five stars is that it is very light. My other pen is a Pilot Metropolitan, and I was used to it's weight. But that pen always skips on the first stroke, which drives me crazy. In all, I think the trade-off of weight to performance is acceptable, especially considering the price point, and I use this as my every day pen.
