I'm very satisfied with this pen and the claims stated. I changed the pen from
cartridge to ink bottle with the Platinum convertor. Writes very smoothly and
ink flow never stops. I haven't had it long enough to claim whether the ink
dries up, after non use for a while, but the pen claims have been true so far.
I'm will be buying more of these pens in different colors.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Fine 03 Nib - Blue Body
I bought this pen because I loved using the Platinum Preppy, but I wanted
something more sturdy and long lasting. This pen does writes well, just like the
Preppy BUT, as noted by the previous reviewer, "There is a significant
depression around the nib section; when I filled the pen using the converter
there was ink sitting in this depression that I found impossible to remove." I
also ran into that situation and I had ink splatter on my paper when I
inadvertently dropped it. I, too, prefer using a converter with bottled ink and
my resolution was to just fill the pen up half way, remove it from the bottle
and then retract it again so that the ink in the 'depression' would be sucked
back into the converter. There was still some ink left, but it did not splatter
as much initially and then it went away as i continued to use it. I should
really give this 3 stars for the inefficiency, but I give it 4 stars because I
like the feel/weight of the pen and how it writes just as well as the Preppy.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Fine 03 Nib - Blue Body
This pen writes well. That being said, there were a few design elements that I
found questionable. The finish is almost too smooth to comfortably handle. The
nib section spins freely and slips out rather easily which doesn't seem to
affect the pen's performance, but unsettles me nonetheless. Finally, there is a
significant depression around the nib section; when I filled the pen using the
converter there was ink sitting in this depression that I found impossible to
remove. When I took off the cap at work today, ink splattered my arm. This pen
seems suited for cartridges but not for use with the converter, and I prefer
using bottled ink. In conclusion, the Plaisir has a good nib, but I would not
buy it again.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Fine 03 Nib - Red Body
My first Platinum was the Preppy. I enjoyed the writing experience, but was not
over thrilled with the appearance. This pen is the answer! The red is stunning
and expensive looking. The balance of the pen is perfect for me. The colored the
nib makes my pen extra special. The ink flow is consistent and smooth. This pen
is a steal at the price!

beautiful body, very nice metallic red color; holds well and looks more
expensive than it is.
Nib Swap: I found the PP fine nib on this too 'fine' for my tastes (made me
realize I'm a medium point person!) and I was able to swap out a Medium Preppy
nib for the Fine nib in the Plaisir. I have written a few lines and the nib
from the Preppy is a little scratchy, but over time and with minor adjustments
to make the nib 'wetter' I think it will be perfect.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Medium 05 Nib - Green Body
I bought a couple of these after having a good experience with the Preppy. The
nib and section look like the Preppy and it writes just as well as the Preppy.
The aluminum barrel and cap look pretty good too.
I have only one caveat. The metal barrel is a little slippery and the cap snaps
on rather tightly, making it a bit of a struggle to get the cap off. I like a
cap that stays on, but this one is just a bit too tight. I can guarantee it
won't fall off. :-)
Once the cap is off, it writes very well. If you don't mind a plastic barrel and
cap, the Preppy writes just as well.
We'll see if their claim about the cap keeping the pen from drying out holds up
over time.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Fine 03 Nib - Black Body
Basically, it\'s the same pen point as the Platinum Preppy, but in a much
sturdier, fashionable body. The nib and feed are identical to the Preppy, but
the cap and barrel are metal. The \'bottom line\' is, for some people who like
the Preppy, but prefer more weight in a pen, the Plaisir may be worth the
additional expense.
Since I haven\'t had any problem with my Preppy fountain pens drying out, in a
reasonable amount of time, I feel that this pen was not worth the additional
expense for that design element. After all, periodically, it is wise to clean
any fountain pen, and I don\'t leave a pen filled for a year.
In Japan, the Plaisir pens sell for around 10 bucks! In the USA, for about a lot
less $, you could buy a Preppy.
Another alternative would be the Pilot 78G which, for less $, is a terrific
fountain pen with an extra-fine \"Japanese fine\" nib. Besides being able to use
cartridges, the 78G comes with an aerometric converter for filling from a
bottle. Although it does work well and is solidly-made, the converter for the
Platinum costs more than a Preppy.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Medium 05 Nib - Green Body
Great value. The only thing I don't like about this pen is that I like a
slightly slimmer pen, and the cap is very large (though it clicks securely). It
is more of a deep emerald than the color shown. In spite of the size, I plan to
buy another - the ink NEVER runs dry or skips, even on crappy notebook paper.
For this reason it's my "all-purpose, heavy duty" fountain pen I take to work
and use on everything because it's so dependable.

Incredibly smooth writer for a low price! If you love the smooth, effortless
glide of fountain pens at their best but are having a budget crunch, try this
one out! It looks nice, too, but I am sorry that they are out of the green.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Fine 03 Nib - Pink Body
I was enjoying using this pen (with the Platinum purple ink which is very pink).
But last night I opened the pen and was covered in the ink. Somehow the
cartridge leaked, filling up the cap and dripping on my hands, my shirt, and a
book. I took it apart and rinsed it thoroughly but I feel apprehensive about
using it again.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Medium 05 Nib - Green Body
Excellent value! I have spent a lot more for fountain pens that were much worse
to write with.
This pen looks good and writes very well.
I wanted something a bit better looking than the Platinum Preppy fountain pen
(which I like using and think is another great value!) but that wrote as well as
the Preppy does for me.
This pen fits that criteria exactly.
The color of the pen I got is a slightly darker green than the photos on the
site ( I expect that is an issue with my monitor.) and is a very pretty emerald
green.
I think I will get another one of these and turn it into a highlighter.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Medium 05 Nib - Blue Body
This was definitely what I was looking for when buying my first fountain pen.
I'd wanted something that I could use every day, maybe loaded with a pretty
color of ink. So, I picked up this ink, a converter, and a bottle of lovely
blue ink, and it's been nothing short of writing instrument heaven.
The nib flows very nicely on a page, gives a very nicely weighted line (05 is
the best descriptor there), and there have been no breaks in my strokes, even on
signatures.
I plan to pick up another color to load with a waterproof basic black, for more
official uses (such as checks and whatnot).

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Medium 05 Nib - Red Body
This pen was absolute junk for me. It started up okay and the ink flow simply
never came back. I've checked that the cartridge is seated properly and stored
the nib pointed downwards for weeks on end...nothing. This is the first pen I've
bought that was DOA and I've gotten no response from Jet Pens customer service
about it. Very disappointed.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Medium 05 Nib - Green Body
I've had this pen for about four or five months now and generally it's worked
great for me, except for one thing: the nib's paint is peeling off. What started
as a beautiful green nib is now rather opaque and losing the paintjob; I would
have thought Platinum would have added green pigments when making the nibs, but
it's apparent they did not. Then again, I'm a novice and with no knowledge of
how these parts are made.
Other than that, the ink flows beautifully, the pen itself looks very classy and
I've left it without the cap just to verify if the pen doesn't dry out. The
claims are true. The cap snaps on just fine, you can put more pressure on it and
it will be somewhat hard to take off, but there's no need to- just apply minimun
pressure and the cap will be on just fine so it doesn't bother you at all when
writing.
I may purchase another green pen just because of the nib, but if you aren't
nitpicky like me, you'll rather enjoy having one of these. It's very pretty to
use and to look at.

Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen - Medium 05 Nib - Gold Body
A really pleasant surprise. Affordable and durable, and I like the "no drying
out" claim, though I haven't tested that part of it. Excellent legibility with
Platinum ink cartridges, no feathering, and just a little bit of nib
scratchiness (less than my more expensive Conklins!). I plan to order another,
but with fine nib next time....
How about a black one, folks?
