Neither pleased with the marketing of this pen nor the quality.

1) Pen doesn't ship with ink. This may have been on the description when I bought it, but it's a 14 dollar pen. No ink?? It says do not use the platinum converter but doesn't say which one? I had the SPN-100A on hand and loaded it. Pen didn't crack but makes me nervous.

2) Cheap quality of the pen - the body is shiny plastic while the cap is metal. This may keep the plastic cap from warping and no longer fitting on the body of the pen like the Preppy plastic pens but time will tell. In the meantime, the plastic body is getting scratched up and it shows a lot. I've had it 3 days and it's been on my desk.

The $3 clear plastic preppy pens feel more solid than the body of this pen.

I feel ripped off.

Since purchasing, have yet been able to get the pen to write. Going to tinker with the nib & feed to see if I can get it to work. Not impressed to say the least.

Surprise! This pen isn't losing a star for it's lack of a converter, use of proprietary cartridges, or writing performance. Converters and cartridge compatibility are the least of my worries, because I bought this pen with intentions of using it as an eyedropper. Isn't that what Preppies are for? I'm using wetter inks with this pen to compensate for it's dry writing qualities. I'm really on the fence about how it writes. I wouldn't say it's scratchy, but it certainly never feels like butter. I haven't had a hard start with it yet and it feels decent, but there are smoother points out there for the price. Where it really excels is appearance. It's a very cool looking pen, but that metal cap and clip are it's downfall. This pen is not balanced. It is extremely top heavy when the cap is posted and it requires a little more effort than it should to hold it. It's not the end of the world, but I can't give an unbalanced writing utensil five stars.
