Retro 51's bestselling line features a stainless steel body with a high gloss lacquer overlay. The pen is fitted with a smooth flowing rollerball refill that retracts with the patented knurl twist-top. The vintage styling of the Tornado pen line will be an exceptional addition to your pen selection. Available in several different body colors.
The pen comes in cushioned tube packaging. The package design may differ from the photos shown.
Pen dimensions: Approximately 4.8 inches (12.1 cm) long and 0.4 inches (12 mm) in diameter.
Beautiful pen, this color is simply stunning. If you want to use a pen instead
of the rollerball it takes parker refills and the Ohto needlepoints.
It is all metal (quiet a bit of brass actually) and feels great in your hand.
The twist mechanism is very nice as well. So we have fashion and function all
in one package. Find a color you like and give one a try !
I am by no means a connoisseur, but the issue i had with the pen is that the
rollerball part of the pen isnt snug when writing. It moves a little bit around
while writing. Although the ink refill it uses writes very smoothly, the
rattling around while writing is irritating.
Love the weight and feel of this pen and the turn at the top is solid. I didn't
care for the ink refill - the black line was inconsistently light or heavy
depending on the angle of the pen and pressure - so I hacked a pilot coleto
hi-tec-c refill and it worked like a charm.
I've had the pen for two weeks now and am loving it. The heft and quality sets
it apart. Besides the looks the pen writes great and I get comments all the time
on what a nice writing instrument it is. You cannot go wrong with a Retro 51
product, they are solid.
Looks gorgeous, writes well. My only complaint is that the ink line, like many
rollerballs, is inconsistent based on the angle you hold it. The line is fast,
light and a bit heavy at an angle to the paper, and at a right angle it becomes
thin and skips. The pen feels great in my hand and is my go to pen for travel.
