Beautiful pen, this color is simply stunning. If you want to use a pen instead of the rollerball it takes parker refills and the Ohto needlepoints.

It is all metal (quiet a bit of brass actually) and feels great in your hand. The twist mechanism is very nice as well. So we have fashion and function all in one package. Find a color you like and give one a try !

I am by no means a connoisseur, but the issue i had with the pen is that the rollerball part of the pen isnt snug when writing. It moves a little bit around while writing. Although the ink refill it uses writes very smoothly, the rattling around while writing is irritating.

Love the weight and feel of this pen and the turn at the top is solid. I didn't care for the ink refill - the black line was inconsistently light or heavy depending on the angle of the pen and pressure - so I hacked a pilot coleto hi-tec-c refill and it worked like a charm.

I've had the pen for two weeks now and am loving it. The heft and quality sets it apart. Besides the looks the pen writes great and I get comments all the time on what a nice writing instrument it is. You cannot go wrong with a Retro 51 product, they are solid.

This is a very nice pen that has become my everyday writer in my work journal. I do prefer the Schmidt P8126 refills to the Retro branded ones. They are a little finer and work better with my hand writing in my preferred 6mm rule notebooks. I also seemed to get some skipping after writing a few paragraphs with the Retro refill. The twist mechanism feels solid and the metal body of the pen has just enough heft to allow the ink to flow without applying much pressure to the paper. I have tried the ink of the Retro and Scmidt refills on notebooks with better paper as well as cheap legal pads. I had some minor bleed through on the cheaper pads, but not with good paper. This pen has a great feel in the hand, nice flowing ink available and a good price for a solid pen worth refilling. This one wont replace my waterman for extended writing, but at a fifth of the price, I feel much more comfortable carrying this one away from my desk. The ice blue color is cool too. I can see a few more of these, especially some of the limited editions, creeping into my collection. Thank you jetpens for the awesome customer service too.

Love these Tornado pens and all the great colors! I was disappointed that the round "box" they came in didn't have the cute pictures and designs of the others I have purchased - since I wanted to give them to people who have a connection with 1951, I was very disappointed in the blah designs.

Pen is darker than it appears for some reason. Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my college student son. Upgrade from the world of Sharpie. (Although Sharpie pens are my favorite.) Gives him something a bit more professional looking to use. Writes well.

I love this pen! I use to be in love with G2's but this pen takes it to the next level! After a long time of drawing the ink started to fade, but I put a new ink refill in and it was as good as new. Worth the money!

This is a well balanced pen -- It's neither top heavy nor bottom heavy; instead, it sits well in my hand when I'm writing. The black ink cartridge is also doing well so far; in fact, I had absolutely no issue with starting once I got the pen out of the packaging. Makes me look forward to the blue refill I got for when I need to change out.
