This is my go to pen for drawing and sketching as it has a good ink flow such as found in fountain pens. Ever since I discovered this pen (which off course has waterproof ink - a must) I have stopped using my fountain pens. Other fiber pens such as Micron are few steps below Rotring in quality. Second best is Faber Castell Pitt drawing pens which use archival waterproof India or China ink.

I also use Mitsubishi Pin pens for sketching and writing but it is not as good as the two mentioned. Very good but it maybe better for some as it can also be used for writing due to low ink flow which may not go through poor paper. With good nice paper such as Rhodia and Clairefontain any pen, juicy or not can be used.

It would be nice if JetPens had a deal where if buying larger quantity of pens would reduced the individual price of the pen.

To add, pens with nice ink flow such as this one and fountain pens are not good for using on cheap paper found in most regular stores as likely feathering would be an issue. You should use Rhodia or Clairefontaine or similar quality paper.

Love this pen! I use it for zentangles, doodles and sketching and absolutely love it. Much prefer to the Sakura Micron, which is very popular here now for zentangles. It gives a beautiful, rich black and is just juicy enough without being too juicy to lose detail. Micron used to be favourite, but this has taken its place; in fact, I am considering investing in the refillable Rotring pen. Very pleased with the quality. My new favourite.

I have heard, although have not yet tried, that once it dries it is waterproof and can easily take watercolour washes. I find, though, that colouring over with Copic will cause the ink to smear slightly.

Very nice pen, works perfectly a very high quality product, I also bought a 0.2 at the same time. The line the .01 makes on paper actually looks larger than the 0.2, but it's hard to tell the difference even with a magnifying glass.

It took me a while, but after years of Microns this Rotring has turned me into a believer. For fine detail and flow you can't beat it. Two seconds drying time on Rhodia. 1, 2, dry. No smear, no smudge.

I have from 0.1 to 0.7 and really appreciate these pens because I'm a watercolorist and if I give them just a couple of minutes to dry they don't bleed - EVER, no matter how wet the wash or watercolor. They also give a pristine line even on the textured watercolor paper. Can't beat them!
