Prefer the Sailor super fine tip to the fine end of this pen, but the 'brush' end produces a very nice stroke.

The ink is dark and flows very well from the larger brush, but gets a little scratchy and develops gaps in the middle of the stroke with quick strokes.

I would prefer to get the Sailor pocket medium when it's in stock, but this is a great alternative to that.

I recently ordered several bristle and felt tip brush pens from this site and this one has been my favorite. I'm a little bit apprehensive about felt tip because they tend to fray after continuous use but this one hasn't yet. It provides a very smooth line with enough room for variation in line width with both ends - thick and thin. Will probably be getting more. Love that it's waterproof and doesn't smear with markers!

I'm fascinated with brush pens for some reason, so I picked this up recently. I really like the double tips, though both are fairly soft and take some finesse to use well. That's true with all brush pens, though, so it's not a bad thing.
The slim tip is capable of hairlines, so in one pen, you've got a very wide range of line widths. The ink doesn't seem as dark as the Kuretake pen, or the Sailor Kiwaguro ink in the Fude pens, but it has a nice sheen when dry that the others don't.
Water resistance seems quite good, with a tiny bit of smearing from the slim end, but I believe that's extra ink that didn't soak into the page.
Overall, a bargain for the price, and a fun tool to carry around.

Really love this, I bought one ages ago and it sat in a bag for awhile and then I dug it back out and it never dried out. I now use it on the Tomoe River paper in my Hobonichi as outlines for watercolors and it performs beautifully.

Good pen for line variation....

Good pen for line variation. The wide tip is forgiving and can make smaller lines, the end has enough give to create thicker ones. Sharpie-esc smell.
