DescriptionSpecificationsQuestions & Answers
This brush pen was designed by Sailor under the supervision of popular Japanese calligrapher Ryofuka to be both stylish and comfortable to use. The curved grip section makes it easy to hold the pen in the recommended position, about 3 cm up from the tip. Its water-based pigment ink flows smoothly and consistently from the felt tip, which provides excellent control and line variation. The Fude Nagomi pens are available in two types: the Standard Models, which feature body colors inspired by the nature of Japan, and the Ryofuka Models, which feature pink and red-toned body colors selected by Ryofuka herself. Each pen includes a pamphlet featuring calligraphy tips and examples from Ryofuka, demonstrating proper sweeping strokes and tapers.

I enjoy using hard tip brush pens for both drawing and lettering work. I have been a fan of the Kuretake pens, but decided to try the Sailor with my last order. I am very pleased with it. It might be the most comfortable pen I have ever held, and it is easily controllable. It gives a smooth thin line and pressure will allow you to thicken the line to about 3x the width. The black ink is not as boldly black as the Kuretake but it is certainly not gray. And, it seems completely waterproof.

I don't know what it is, but this pen is great to write with. The line is thin enough, and the tip glides across normal paper just right. Since the tip is all black, it's hard to tell where the actual inky bit stops, but for me that just adds to the overall elegant appearance. I recommend this pen for writing enthusiasts.

I'm loving this pen for drawing comics. I like a fine, fine line (such as 005 Sakura Pigma Microns), but lately have wanted to get back into brush pens for the comic. The ink in holds up under erasing, the nib easily gives varied line width, and the fineness of the nib has held up very well so far. And, aesthetically, it's an attractive pen to have on the desk. I'll probably stock up on more of them.
