Here's are some tricks...

Here's are some tricks I've discovered that will help the skipping. First off, the skipping will typically happen for me when I haven't used a particular color for a while. Put a tiny drop of water on some sturdy scrap paper and slowly doodle in little circles within that droplet. You're getting the roller ball moist again. Do this for a solid minute. If it doesn't work immediately, try it up to 3 times.

If THAT doesn't work, start but running the the same pen over a very fine-grit sandpaper (I use the little pad of sand papers I keep with my colored pencils for this). You don't have to do it much, just enough so that you would be able to "scratch" off any dried, built-up ink stuck to the entire ball surface. Follow by rubbing the tip of the pen with a paper towel to get off any scratched off bits. Next, do the water drop thing.

If even those tricks together don't work, and the following has only failed for me twice in umpteen years, bang that pen into a thickish wad of paper. Yes, the roller ball tip. It COULD ruin the pen for good, but it could also be the jolt needed to get the ink flowing again. Besides, at this point you'd be pretty frustrated and ready to toss it in the trash anyway :)

I also found my very first Sakura Gelly Roll Gel ink pen in a college bookstore in the early 90's. After it was used up I could never find another one. It was one of the absolute best pens I ever used. I was thrilled when I found them here at JetPens. There are many applications: scrapbooking, journaling, note taking--the possibilities are endless. I love the way the ink looks and the fact that it does not skip at all. Love these pens! You won't be disappointed.

Perfect gel ink pan for lab notebooks. No bleeding, despite pressing hard, on carbon paper. A no frills dark black that gets the job done. Can be a bit scratchy on carbon paper, but smooth on all other papers I've used it on.

It's a decent pen. It writes smoothly and all but frequent use makes the ink skip. I've used other products from this brand and they seem to tend to skip. Overall an okay purchase.

I used to love these pens. I used them all the time in high school and college. But my most recent purchase left me wanting. The pen skips and is scratchy far too often for me.

These pens are fantastic! I discovered these at my college bookstore as well, and after trying one out, I ended up buying four of them! They write like a gel pen, or rollerball pen, and are inexpensive. I think they are great for writing or drawing! Get some!
