I have been bouncing around between fountain pens, gel, and many others and the Pigma Micron has me pretty excited. Very smooth writing, solid bold lines at a .3mm. Extremely happy! A dozen more and I will be set for a while. Thank you Jet Pens!!

I use this pen all the time for crosshatching and very fine outlines. It's not for people with heavy hands, and it's not the most durable pen for writing.

Whoever rates these lowly write way too heavily and should be using a different pen to begin with. If you're looking for fine detailing and have the gentle hand for such details, this pen is perfect. It doesn't just "wear out" after 30 minutes.

I've used these pens for years and always found them to be an excellent buy. The ink is smooth, crisp, and dark. However, if you press too hard, the tip will push into the barrel, so these need to be used with only light pressure.

It would be nice to see these colors drawn or written with.
Also, does the black come as a set of mixed sizes?
Love these as they can be water-colored over after drying.
p.s.- don't leave the cap off !! but they do last a long time.

Could you consider carrying the Faber-Castell Pitt artist brush pens?
They are fabulous to work with the Sakura.

Unlike the previous review, I find that these pens are very worthwhile. The ink is black to me; also, it is light- and waterproof, which isn't something most pens can boast. The wide range of sizes and the colours make this one of my favourite pens. I find that they handle precision drawing very well.

(I advise the previous user to look at rotring instruments, i.e. rapidographs. They are not disposable, and may just be of the right kind!)

Good:

Extreme precision.
Great flow without being viscous.
Writes well at all angles.
No feathering.

Possibly Bad:

Barrel (underneath the cap) is slightly too narrow for my taste. I know I can and will get used to it, but if you are used to big grips or thick writing utensils, it will feel odd at first.

This pen delivers and you can't go wrong if you need a utensil that writes incredibly precise and glides perfectly. The only drawback is if you can't write without using a large grip. Highly recommend.

A thick marker pen, supposedly of archival quality. I like pens and pencils a lot for writing a lot of notes during the day, but this is marker pen is better used for other purposes. A friend was very happy when I gave this pen as a gift for he.

This pen is great! I absolutely love how tiny it is ~
Although, sometimes you can't write/draw sideways cause the bunt is straight and not.. felt. But that's nothing big.

I recommend this pen for any drawing or for someone who write tiny!

I recently got a set of these pens from Michael's. A 005, 03, 08, 1 mm, brush, and a pencil, all pens in black. I gotta say, they do make a very nice line and are probably something that I will go back to in a later time. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because they don't stand up all that well to erasing. Other than that, these pens are great!

I cannot say enough about the entire Sakura Micron line -- as a lefty who loves inking my own pencilwork, I have to worry often about smearing ink and lines not holding true. I have never had a problem with that when I use these pens. I love the crispness of the finepoint, and how long they last. I've left them overnight in a car in over 100 degree heat and not had them dry up. Simply said, I consider these platinum class pens that are beyond affordable.

I'm a super fantastic fan of Sakura Pigma Micron products! I've always wanted a colored set, but the price was a bit high for me too purchase in store, so I came here and found it for a wonderful prices. Along with the free shipping of orders over 25$ it was such a great buy, excellent packaging, correct product and wonderful quality! Go ahead and get it guys! :D

I love this pen i use this pen all the time for on the go drawings but it is no replace for my maru pen but for on the go it is great real good ink nice straight lines i love it

These pens have been around for awhile but I've just gone back to them. I know a lot of people use them in zentangle and drawing. I love them because they're waterproof. Lately I've been using them with watercolor. They work great because the pen doesn't bleed when water is added. I have them in all sizes and colors. I love the smaller sized pens because you can really get great detail with them.

I love this pen. They're great. My writing look neat because the tips is thin. The ink dry fast. I write a lot of essay and it last me a couple months. Definitely recommended.

its a good pen. only, if you're a press-hard-when-drawing person like me, pen leaves a shadow of a bleed-through . even when written with normally.but all in all, a good pen. like it as a set - i have the others too.

I've used these pens and like them for drawing, particularly the .005 size. But I occasionally experience leaks from these pens that I have to discard them. I'll remove the cap and see a large puddle of ink at the base of the collar. It's happened on about 10% of the pens I've purchased over the past couple of years. JetPen is great about replacing them, but the problem is with the manufacturer.

These are the best pens for marking and note taking in a book or Bible. The ink flow is amazingly smooth and the color is very appealing. Ink dries fast with no smearing. A must have.

Designer must-have!

Most overrated pen ever. I have never had these pens last more than about 30 minutes of use. My last one lasted less than that and I was being particularly careful in using it only on smooth paper (Moleskine Cahier and Sketchbook) and using it with a very light touch. After about 20 minutes the point receded into the barrel to the point of being unusable. This has happened with every one of these pens in this size - I have killed about six of these. Well, no more. If you want a disposable pen that you will be disposing very soon then get one of these. Or better yet, take your $2.00 and throw it in the trash right now. Same result.

I broke down and bought a handful of Sakura Pigma Micron pens in these and other sizes. They are okay for sketching, but are not good for technical drawing or precision artwork. The ink isn't as dark as the descriptions imply. And even worse, they are disposable, like quality technical instruments were.

I long for the time (about 35 years ago) when I could get an beautiful, finely made Mars body to go with it's jewel tips for wonderful drawing. (I still have the body, infact, but can't find the tips for it.) I truly regret my lack of foresight in stocking up on those fine instruments and getting stuck with the cheap technical pens of today and especially these envionmentally unfriendly disaposable things.

Sorry, Sakura. If you want to make a true contribution to artists and renderers, return to those thrilling days of yesteryear!
