With Sonic's Nobirura, you have two rulers in one: it is a 16 cm (6.3 inches) ruler that extends to become a 30 cm (11.8 inches) ruler. In its compact 16 cm form, the ruler conveniently fits in your pencil case. The clip lets you clip it to your notebook and papers, and it serves as a handy bookmark. Once extended to its long form, the ruler is long enough to draw straight vertical lines down an A4-size page. Extending the ruler is easy and smooth—simply grip the clip and slide it out until it snaps into place. The name "Nobirura" conveys this unique feature, by incorporating "nobiru," the Japanese word for "extends". The ruler is not only functional, but is aesthetically attractive, made of transparent acrylic and coordinating plastic.
I purchased this ruler for sixth form for my photography AS Level and it is
really great. The fact that it slides out means that you don't get a bump in the
line like the fold-able rulers do, the only slight criticism I would have is
that the slide out part is occasionally a little stiff, but its not a major
issue and other than that its perfect for its purpose.
