With Sonic's Nobirura, you have two rulers in one: it is a 16 cm (6.3 inches) ruler that extends to become a 30 cm (11.8 inches) ruler. In its compact 16 cm form, the ruler conveniently fits in your pencil case. The clip lets you clip it to your notebook and papers, and it serves as a handy bookmark. Once extended to its long form, the ruler is long enough to draw straight vertical lines down an A4-size page. Extending the ruler is easy and smooth—simply grip the clip and slide it out until it snaps into place. The name "Nobirura" conveys this unique feature, by incorporating "nobiru," the Japanese word for "extends". The ruler is not only functional, but is aesthetically attractive, made of transparent acrylic and coordinating plastic.
Cool little item. It is a collapsible straight edge which is nice to have in my
pack while backpacking. It gives you a reasonably long straight edge at half
the size thanks to the collapsing nature of the unit. I would like it more if
it had inches as well at centimeters but that is due to my age and growing up in
a non-metric world. We will have to see how it does for durability as I will be
using this while out on multiday backpacking trips and things don't get too much
TLC in the pack.
