Probably good for drawing, but the 0.4 bleeds more than I would have hopes. For a pen under 1$ it is good though.

If you want a fineliner...

If you want a fineliner felt tip pen that costs less than a buck and you simply do not care if the line is inconsistent, the ink bleeds and the whole thing dries up after no time at all, then by all means, buy these pens. I probably could have dealt with the line issues and simply used them for making color-coded lists or notes, but the fact that they dry out really fast is impossible to ignore. Properly capping and storing the pens does nothing to preserve them.

I really like these for fast lettering and linework that doesn't NEED to be precise; I've had some problems with ink blobbing every so often, so I won't use them for anything important, but I've found that the ink is smooth, albeit taking a few seconds longer to dry than I like (something a lefty notes, trust me) , but it is colorfast, and I've had them last a LONG LONG time with a LOT of writing done with them, so they are rather nice for an inexpensive pen to carry around for writing in a notebook, or minor personal art projects.

i write a lot as a student and i like to have options. i enjoy using this pen because i use printer paper for notes sometimes. it has a nice thick black line and the hexagonal barrel is enjoyable in your hand. its a long pen so that adds to the experience when using it to write

I got a box of these for drawing, and they are OK, but not what I want for drawing anything worthwhile. The ink bleeds, and it is really hard to get a crisp edge (I have tried them on many kinds of paper with equal results). The price is great, but now I just use these for taking notes at work. When my box runs out, I don't plan on getting more.

Love these pens! I got a larger pack with multiple colors, but I use the black so much I bought several extra blacks individually. This is the best place I've found to buy them.

I bought this and the Dark Gray color to test out the Stabilo Point 88 series. I've seen a lot of people draw and color with them but, like most of us, I have to try supplies for myself. Everyone has different needs.

After testing them out by drawing & coloring mandalas on mixed media paper and taking notes on basic notebook paper, I've concluded that the Black color works best for drawing/outlining, but doesn't come close the taking the place of a Sakura Pigma or even Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen. Even on heavy paper it got very saturated and bled through when coloring. And even simple lines begins to bleed after more than one pass. On notebook paper the blotting is noticeable but not too bad. I much prefer blotting to a pen that has poor flow. It could certainly be used as an everyday black pen.

Finally, these Stabilos definitely possess a big style factor. The design makes them one of the most popular and recognizable fineliners out there. I actually really like using simply because it looks different.

So overall, this particular Point 88 is not exactly what I was looking for but it did rank higher than the Dark Gray for me. And now I have a new note taking pen for my collection!

I bought the 25 pack, and a couple extra of these black ones, and it was a great decision!! They already last a long long time, so basically I have extras to have a couple everywhere I go! They last long, the nib is sturdy and the pen itself is very light!! Definitely will be buying more

I love Stabilo pens and use them to take notes everyday. I obviously use the black fineliner the most often, so it's normal that the ink started drying up after extensive use everyday! But I still love this pen and will most probably order more once my current one runs out for good!

really love this pen! other reviewers are correct in that even though the description is 'fine', the pen tip is slightly larger than what you think a fine pen tip should be. it's almost a medium tip. the slender pen shaft typically poses an ergonomic problem for my hand, but the shape of the shaft compensates that for a better grip. highly recommend!
