I've been wishing for...
I've been wishing for a product like this for as long as I've been using highlighters, and I'm glad it's made by Staedtler, maker of my favorite highlighters and ink. It's wasteful to buy extra highlighters, often in packs with colors you don't want.
The Refill Station is a simple 30 mL highlighter ink bottle, with a wick rising up from the ink. Plug in a standard dried-out Textsurfer into the port, and, via the magic of capillary action, after about 4 hours the highlighter will be refilled.
This can be used to refill non-Textsurfer highlighters, provided the highlighter tip fits into the port and can touch the wick. While I use a Textsurfer at home, when I'm elsewhere, a retractable highlighter (like the Pentel Handy-Line S) is more convenient. I needed to tape the Pentel into place to keep it in place, but it was simple enough.
Don't know yet how many refills I'll get out of the 30 mL, so it's hard to make a cost comparison vs. buying new highlighters. No matter though, I'm quite happy with it already, moreso since Staedtler's pink highlighter ink has been my favorite highlighter ink for 10+ years.
