The mechanism is super quality, and works perfectly. I have compared with other models.
But the barrel plastic quality maybe it can improved.
And the most important thing, if there were put a metal ring in the lower sliding area, it was more than perfectly.

I ordered both the black and white versions of this pencil. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the eraser cover on the black one is a bit loose. Since the white one is flawless, I assume this is just a production fluke. Also, the eraser is a little hard to use with the lead sleeve out due to the softness of the eraser. It sits really close to the end of the pencil. Great pencil for the price though. Can't beat a $2 pencil with a retractable lead sleeve.

The mechanism to hide the pencil tip on this pencil is engenius. However, the pencil tip itself is very wobbly. It makes writing a massive pain. Particularly when you're trying to write exponents on your math homework.

So, -5 stars for the wobbliness, +1 star for the mechanism.

You might want to forgive the first review where they complain about something to do with a retractable nib. DUDE IT IS $2.00 Fricken dollars what do you expect? This is penny for penny the best mechanical pencil on jet pens, but again it is only 2 bucks so don't expect high craftsmanship and superb engineering. What you can expect is a good looking, fun design, in a pencil that is good to hold and writes very well, and I will add has a retractable tip.

IT IS 2 BUCKS so it is not going to take a beating so the reviewer who complains about it not being able to take a ton of abuse, use your brain when deciding what purpose something is designed for. It is not fair to rate items 2 stars becasue it breaks when it is not designed to take a bunch of abuse. If it were it would be higher priced. Come on people get it together. I understand most of you are under 12 years old but I expect more out of you judgment than this.

I picked up two of these pens as honestly, I needed $4 bucks to get the free shipping, so I thought why not. Turned out to be a great choice! I've been wanting a mechanical pencil with a retractable sleeve for a while, I'm sick of stabbing myself in the leg when it's in my pocket. This pencil writes very smoothly and contrary to another review, does not wobble much if at all. My only knock on this guy is the eraser, that thing is quite flimsy when you use it, but that's not stopping me from carrying this one with me on the road. Overall, well worth the two bucks!

Let me ask you if you would purchase a mechanical pencil that was cute, unique design, works flawlessly, quite comfortable to hold, and offered .5mm lead and it was only $4.00?

If you answered yes I suggest you get 2 of these so you have different color to use for fun. WOW for $2.00 this is penny for penny the best pencil on Jetpens guaranteed. Many $5.00 don't compare to this. It would be nice if they would carry all of the colors on the section picture but hey at least they have the few colors they do. I would pick a couple up if I were you before they are all gone and never come back.

This pencil is less than ok... I was disappointed with how the metal part wasn't strong. If I write something, the whole pencil just wiggles. I guess the price is worth it, but I would spend that to buy another lead or something.

I liked this pencil a lot- it has a nice color and the grip is fairly comfortable. I like the design of the barrel and it fits well in a pencil case (although it is a bit wide).

Unfortunately, I probably wouldn't recommend this pencil, as it is fairly fragile. It works alright if you do not use much pencil lead when you write, but if you leave the lead out too far, the tip that holds it can break pretty easily. This happened to my pencil about 3 weeks after I started using it. Without the tip that holds the lead, it will wobble around, breaking the lead very easily and making it near impossible to write.

I write with quite a bit of pressure though, so if you do not press very hard when writing, this will likely not become an issue.

I thought I was getting a good deal with a retractable nip and nice design, BUT I was mistaken. The pencil seems to be made of very poor quality, and the nib is WAY to wobbly. The way the pencil is made also makes for a very non- smooth write, which isn't very helpful at all. I would not recommend anyone to buy this product.

I liked this pen! Liked. I broke it after trying to fix it. The lead broke inside the pencil and I took it apart to fix it but after I got the broken lead out every time I click it the lead would just fall out like it didn't fit. The metal lead holder would wiggle a lot more too. It was kind of sad but I can still write with it. The function is good because the tip is protected but that's all. A pencil box would protect the pencil without fail really.

I thought I was getting a great deal for a pencil that had a retractable nib, but no. The nib has TOO much wobble in it. The retractable nib makes no difference to me if the nib is a piece of junk. The nib wobbles about a full millimeter in whatever direction you aren't trying to move the pencil.

It's a nice design, but terrible mechanics. Only reason I give it more than a 1 star is because if held at gun-point, I might be able to bring myself to use it. That, and it's better (in some regard...) than a pencil that didn't have a retractable nib with the same amount of wobble. I'd give it a 1.5 if I could.

This pencil is pretty good, but you need to be light with it. This pencil is VERY fragile. I broke it in 2 days. So if you are a bit rough with your pens, this is not the pencil for you.
