Tombow's Dual Brush pens are available in a dazzling array of colors, and are appreciated by fine artists and crafters alike for good reason. They are wonderful for illustrating, drawing, rubberstamping, and other artistic endeavors. Each pen has two tips—a high-quality, flexible nylon fiber brush tip and a fine bullet tip. Use the brush tip to create fine, medium, and broad strokes. It is resilient, retaining its point even after extensive use. For consistent fine lines, the sturdy fine tip is ideal. The water-based ink blends easily with other colors, and it is acid-free, non-toxic, and odorless. The colorless blender is useful for softening colors or blending colors together.

This Grayscale set contains 10 pens: N15 Black, N25 Lamp Black, N55 Cool Gray 7, N45 Cool Gray 10, N60 Cool Gray 6, N75 Cool Gray 3, N65 Cool Gray 5, N95 Cool Gray 1, N89 Warm Gray 1, and N00 Colorless Blender.

This is a fantastic set of markers to pick up for sketching, the brush tips lend themselves well for sketching (just don't go TOO fast or you'll get streaky lines) and the bullet tips are great for details.

They're not my favourite marker for colouring, I much prefer alcohol markers such as Copics that don't streak and pill my paper like these do. But Tombows have found a home in my collection for sketching and inking. I didn't think they'd hold up to having alcohol markers being used over them, but they do and they hold up okay to erasing. They're a cheap and MUCH better alternative to coloured technical markers and things like Pitt pens.

My one complaint with this set is that there's an odd blue-grey colour that doesn't mesh AT ALL with the rest of the greys. The darker greys are also very close to black, there isn't much of a difference.

Overall, these are good markers for the price. I can however see that if you are not careful to clean and care for them, they can easily be ruined. It's basic but making sure to wipe off the tips when they pick up colors from the paper, capping them completely, keep them in cool temps, and ensuring they do not bounce around while being transported.

A warning: most ink unless dye or non-soluble permanent will smear with these pens. These markers will also smear pencil and colored pencils. Which is cool if you use the blender to play around. Just clean it off after though. The tips seem to keep their shape well and overall the ink is fairly smooth. I will however admit that I wish they weren't as wet. In some cases I have had to wait between layer and use thicker paper, or it would run through and pill.

The color spectrum is pretty useful too. I bought this set and the skin tone set, great for portraits.
