Consistent, clean, crisp...., October 3, 2012
Consistent, clean, crisp. I tested on:
- Doane graphed notepad
- Moleskin lined notepad
- Regular ol' crappy yellow notepad
Compared to a .4 Hitec-c, a .38 uni signo DX, and a .4 sarasa, this was the only
one that wrote reliably and consistently well on all paper types. The gel pens
(especially those w/ finer tips) skipped and scratched a bit on the doane and
crappy yellow notepads, and everybody did great on the Moleskin. Jetstream
ink/pen wrote fluently and smoothly in all 3.
My handwriting tends to be kinda fat and sloppy (especially during fast-paced
meetings and lectures.) The finer-tip pens tend to get scratchy at high speeds
for big letters. When I could slow down and write nicely/small-ly at my desk,
or during a brain-storm, these finer tip pens (and this Jetstream in particular)
really start to shine, regardless of your paper. Having said that, for a
fast-paced meeting, I'd reach for this Jetstream pen and a Moleskin pad.
Knockout combo, regardless of your usage.
I just ordered the .7 4+1 cousin of this pen and am really looking forward to
trying/reviewing it.

I LOVE THIS PEN! I bought 30 items from JetPens recently, and this one is by far
my favourite. The ink is just like the other Jetstreams- smooth, rich and
consistent. The barrel is not too thick at all, and is a really pretty shiny
black :) 5/5 stars for sure!

This is currently my favorite pen, hands down. The efficiency is unmatched. It's
especially ideal for taking notes during meetings at work and lectures at grad
school. I often find myself using different colors to illustrate different
speakers.
As with many Jetstream pens, and certainly most of the ones hailing from Japan,
the ink is very smooth. Not to mention the line is fairly clean.
Why not five stars? The noise the pen makes switching between inks can be a
little loud. That's not a good thing during conference calls :(.
Also the ink plungers are a little juvenile-looking and the blue ink is often
times hit or miss on smoothness.
I recently ordered the 4 & 1 Multipen and Pencil and I think that will be a
great upgrade. Still, this is a very good pen.

This is the pencil that I lend to my coworkers at the office. Not my favorite
pen as I prefer gel inks, but this ballpoint is just what is needed in most
offices or schools (Hmm, I guess it needs a mechanical pencil too), the price is
a bit high for those purposes though.
