This is a case of 20 pencil leads suitable for Uni-ball Kuru Toga mechanical pencils. The lead has a special composition: a soft outer layer around a harder inner core. As a result, the lead can be easily shaped into a point, which is what Kuru Toga pencils are uniquely designed to do. The lead case comes in various colors, and the slim profile slips easily into your pencil case.
Soft on the paper, but seems to be a hard lead, well balanced just like expected
from an HB lead. The case opens with a small half twist around an helical ridge,
just like a screw. The case cap has a small dent that helps to prevent the case
to roll and fall. Works great on the Kuru Toga, but, well, almost all leads do.
I like how the Uni leads are different canisters for the .3 and .5. Easy to keep
them straight so I don't mix up the wrong lead. This lead is pretty sturdy, low
breakage. The coverage is excellent. Erases good too, since I erase the pencil
drawings once I ink them in.
These refills work great with the Kuru Toga Pencils. I just wish the Kuru Toga
would use more of the lead up. It always leaves about 1/2" left that I cannot
seem to use since the mechanism will not rotate this small piece remaining.
