Very smoothe, can be sharpened to a long point, but won't last long because it is very soft. I see really no difference between this and the 9B or the Grafwood 9B. I prefer the 10B only because its slightly wider lead.

These were used to draw Duet, an animated short by Glen Keane. I heard about them on the Bancroft Brother's podcast. These deliver a smooth, silky black line with hardly any effort. Mitsubishi pencils are just better somehow. I had used the HBs before and was impressed by the smoothness of the lead. These pencils are worth every penny.

The Uni Mitsubishi Hi-Uni 10B is an animators pencil! It draws dark and the lead doesn't break when you sharpen it. Each pencil lasts awhile too. The 10b is good on any paper, but on animation field paper (22lb) it moves like water, no friction, quick, and heavy lines with a ton of variety in the right kind of hands. It's practically a brush in pencil form. It'd be awesome if they came in different colors. The only qualm I have is that you can't get them in bulk, just the box of 12. Maybe the rumors of the 10b being out of production are true, let's hope, not because this is right now my favorite pencil to work with.

Really soft, black pencil that's perfect for quick sketches or even finished work. It makes a dark line that can be scanned pretty easily if you start on paper and finish digitally. Doesn't break when sharpening like other soft pencils do.
