While researching for sketching supplies I noticed a lack of reviews everywhere I went. So hopefully this helps someone! Review your purchases people!

I use this lead several times a week when sketching. I use red, blue and black leads while sketching (sometimes all three in one sketch). Red lead is great for value studies!

Pros: Has a great pressure to value ratio (light pressure = light color; hard pressure = dark color). Natural flow of color. Doesn't wear out as fast as other colored lead. Great carrying case (don't take these for granted). Inexpensive.

Personal Cons: Not fully erasable. Marks look more like a classic colored pencil and less like red colored lead.

TL;DR - Surprisingly useful and fun to use. Doesn't erase that well. If you need red lead then you'll be happy!

Disappointed with this lead. The color is more of a sepia-ish red. Its really hard to erase...if you can. I tested this lead against the Pilot Color Eno in red and the Uni Nanodia in red with different pressure on the paper. The Uni Nanodia erased very well. The Pilot just a bit less than the Uni Nanodia. And the Mitsubishi just did very poor. I do recommened their normal grey leads. They are fantastic. But their color lead still needs work. Very soft and went through the lead very quickly

Of the 3 or 4 different brands of red 2mm pencil lead I have tried. The Uni red leads are the brightest and the easiest to erase. It doesn't erase well but it erases better than other red leads. There is a little plastic band at the end of the lead that helps it not to slip out when you are down to the last half inch or so of lead. I like this stuff; it works good for me.

Love the vermillion color. Wish it was a little crisper, but I've not yet run into red lead that is. (Tell me if you know of one!)
