Disappointed. The pen...

The pen has an overall cheap feel. Pressing the plunger to get a new component is difficult. The piece that you push on slides into the body as you push it down, disappearing into the body before you’ve completed the action. Which means I loose grip and the component pops back up most of the time.

I got a pencil component. To advance the lead, you push on the back of the pen. The pencil component moves all around as you do this. No satisfying click, just mushy moving components sliding around. Worst of all, half the time the pencil component pops back up into the pen when you try to advance the lead.

The clip is the worst of all. I got this for my wife who will be carrying it in a shirt pocket and the clip does not seem to be up to the task. It’s thin, lightweight plastic. It has a ton of wiggle to it (it also acts as a plunger for a component). It just seems so flimsy and does not inspire confidence.

Other reviewers like the window and feel it is good for figuring out which plunger to push for which component. I feel that it is not. It’s dark in there, I can’t tell the colors apart.

The only saving grace is the refills. The .5 ballpoint refills are nice.

The blue is really cool-lookin...

The blue is really cool-looking and the pen is skinnier than it seems in the picture. It's clever how the clip clicks down for the fifth color, although it seems to click downward a lot easier than the others, so be careful with that when removing this pen from your shirt. I usually get a thicker pen refill (0.5 as opposed to 0.28) and distinguish it using that.

The window is really nice for knowing which color is being used, and the refills come in great, bright colors. I love it. However, the button at the end of the pen depresses, but it doesn't click back any of the components like I'm used to with multi-pens. The pen is really smooth and although I wish there was a grip system with it (for the death-grippers), it's not something to complain about. The pen still holds well since it's not too thick.

I like this system, since refilling is easy and everything is compatible with, well, everything.
(On a side note: I think the spelling is Meister, not Mystar, but I'm not sure. It would make more sense, though, since "meister" means "master.")

Anyhow, this is definitely one of those pens I whip out and say, "behold!" as others go "ooh" in delight. This is one of those multi-pen systems that wow me in quality.

Good design. 4 ink colors...

Good design. 4 ink colors plus room for mechanical pencil. Transparent mid-section makes it fairly easy to identify available colors. Gel ink cartridges write and draw smoothly but run out too fast so not the best value.

I have bought a couple of these pens now and love to write with them. It has a lite feeling when writing, yet heavy enough in the hand. Some have commented on not being able to see the colors very easily, but I have not found that to be a problem. You can see the color through the barrel, and I have found that I easily memorize the color of each tab. I also love that there are 5 colors to choose from to put in the pen, but the barrel isn't too big. I was actually quite surprised at how nicely it writes. It is now my go-to pen and will most likely buy more in the future.

I just ordered my second one of these - A pen with 5 colors is great and with two of these I'm set for on-the-go sketching. I love that it has a pencil refill also. The colors are very, very good and the golden yellow color is the first yellow that makes sense for a pen - You can see it. The only negatives are the top of the refills aren't colored so figuring out what you're advancing isn't that easy. Yes, there is a window but I can't always tell what's sliding. That said the positives outweigh the negatives by a mile for me!

Don't know what the hype...

Don't know what the hype was about. I'm so disappointed. My sister raved about it and encouraged me to buy one. So I did, with 7 additional refills of all different colors. I put in all the cartridges, and it's terrible to write with! I normally love Uni pens, and the ink is nice and saturated with beautiful colors. I thought that a larger barrel would be more comfortable to use (like a Dr. Grip pen), but not so! The end of the barrel is tapered and slippery, and I find myself trying to grip the pen tighter, which makes for a very fatiguing writing experience. I will never buy this again. In fact, I'm going to give it to my son, who hopefully will find it appealing.

Gorgeous body color, loved that I could fit any of the multiple refills into it...everyone at my office asks about it regularly. I love it.
