I LOVE THIS PENCIL. It's very comfortable when you write.

in my grade at school there are two pencil nerds...i am one :) i love the uni alpha gels, they are so comfortable and nifty

When I bought this pencil a couple of years ago, I was not surprised at all by its comfortable grip. I had already experienced the old, fat version of the alpha gel. However, what really sets this pencil apart from the original is its thin body and shaker ability. The shaker ability allows you to advance the lead without changing hand positions. Its also fun to play with when you are bored. Another neat thing about this pencil is the lead retracting mechanism. By clicking the top down like you would with a pen, you can easily retract the lead. Great pencil overall and in my opinion, the best of the alpha gel line.

I love these pencils so so so so much!!! They are so squishy, and super addicting. I think it's the best pencil ever...

Uni-ball Alpha Gel Shaka Shaker Pencil - 0.5 mm

Good:
- Perfect balance in weight.
- Gel provides comfort in people who tend to write fast or extensively.
- Revised clip, better than the HD series one.
- Shaker is okay.

Bad:
- Grip rips very easily, good care is recommended to avoid this.
- The shaking mechanism sometimes jams.
- No lower grip for writers who grip the pencil low.

i love this pencil i have it and i love the squishy grip but mine pulled apart in half but u can fix it and like yea this is a good pencil to me

In the current Japanese market, this is a fairly new product. This product has proved to be a popular mechanical pencil in Japan. This is my favourite mechanical pencil in the series of all uni-ball mechanical pencils.

THIS PENCIL IS BEAUTIFUL! i love it, but there are some down sides, but first the up sides to this pencil, it is pretty, convinent, and it feels great on your hands... but now the down sides, 1. it breaks easily. 2. it you squish the grip regularly, it tears. 3. IT COSTS A TON!!!! although, it is the best one out of the uni series.... but if you REALLLLLY NEEEEED to get this pencil, get white (or clear,) pink, blue.... :) Yeah. . .

My friend has this pencil and I love it! The best part (and the main reason why people buy this pencil) is the super soft and comfy grip. It is a liquidy, soft, green 100% gel grip that is squezy and jello-like. It is removable from the pencil and can be used on other pencils, but it will not be as soft as it is on the original pencil. This pencil has a small eraser on the top. If you'd like, you can buy refills right here on jetpens.com. This unique pencil can extend its lead by a click on the cap at the top, or simply, shaking it. You can lock the pencil by clicking hard on the cap until you hear a click. To lock the pencil means to stop the lead from extending even if shaken or clicked on the cap. To unlock it, you click the cap harder than before until you hear a click. Let go on the cap after you hear it. Now, it's unlocked. This lead pencil is used with 0.5 lead. It also comes witha clip so you can clip it to your papers. Some bad things (or cons) about this pencil is that the grip is so soft that it is really fragile and may rip easily. Unfortunatly, there are no replacement grips for this pencil so you need to be very careful. If you want this pencil to last long, it needs to be well-used and being cared for. So, that being said, this is recommended for people 8+.Overall, I love this pencil. I bring it to school everyday. THIS IS THE BEST PENCIL IVE EVER USD i used it for 4 years and still NO JAM :D

This is the best pencil I have ever used. The grip is very soft, and that helps me when i'm drawing. The color is also very nice, because I just love the color green! And the shaker option is amazing! My only complaint is that when i shake it, it either puts out too much lead or not enough lead! But that is only a minor thing which is fixed easily.
But in all seriousness I would recommend this pencil to anybody and everybody. Excellent pencil.

I LOVE this pencil!!! The squishy grip is sooooo comfortable, it makes me excited to use it! My friend from Japan brought me back one and I used it for a year and a half and I never had one problem with it. I just ordered more and I'm counting down the days until they arrive!! Pink is my favorite color and the pencil is so cute :)

Very nice, grip is very squishy, not many jams. Very very cool! My handwriting is very neat because of the grip, I can hang on easily.

This pencil is great for school, because i don't have to ram my thumb back in to the end of the pencil.

really good pencil for people who like shakers and shakys are new to them, but if shakers are no big deal for you like me then i would prefer the original uni-ball or the
HD one.

this pencil is really great! i've had it for 2 years already and it has never broken down on me! i love the Uni-ball Alpha Gel series, and am planning to get another one :) good buy.

Great pencil, but most people love the Shaka Shaker Pencil's the most, I'm a rebel and like the thick and slim pencils best, but that still can't keep me from rating this what it's worth!

Very nice, grip is very squishy, not many jams. Very very cool! My handwriting is very neat because of the grip, I can hang on easily.

I would definitely recommend this pencil to anybody. The grip is outstanding but it is easy to puncture but other than that it is an all in all great pen.

OMG this is the PERFECT pencil for 2 reasons

1. The grip

This grip is BY FAR the best grip I have felt in my life. It makes the other grips you put on wooden pencils seem like hard rubber. But, when you get it, it is a bit stiff but still comfy; so use it alot and it will get alot squishier.

2. The Shaker

The shaker makes it so that you will almost never have to touch that button at the top to extend the lead. It also feels good too. I don't know how to describe it though.

The price may be expensive, but it was well worth it for the quality. I would be willing to pay $50 on it.
