I ordered the Uni-ball erasable pens to compare them with the Frixion. I was
really tired of how the Frixion pens ran out of ink so fast, and I will say
these Fanthom pens do have more ink. The down side is the Fathom ink is much
lighter than the Frixion ink. Go with the Frixion pens

The Fanthom .5 writes more smoothly than the Frixion .4 which tends to be a
little scratchy, and it's handy not to have to remove the cap to access the
eraser. The colors of the Frixion are brighter, and the eraser works much better
than that of the Fanthoms. It would be great if Frixion would either move the
eraser to the end of the cap or make a block eraser.

Uni-ball Fanthom Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.5 mm - 8 Color Pack
Not gonna lie....I like the Pilot FriXion pens better than these Uni-ball
Fanthoms. Just received them in the mail today and started using them. Maybe
they'll grow on me but my initial feeling is, if you're going to buy erasable
pens, go with Pilot.
While I think the Uni-ball Fanthom pens are aesthically superior to the Pilot
FriXion pens, the Pilots are far better in terms of writing and erasing quality.
The Fanthoms look a little more "grown-up" and professional to use in the office
as opposed to high school or college. But they write very faint and skip a
little. The effort to erase is greater and still doesn't seem to completely
erase whatever was written. On the other hand, the Pilot FriXions write
incredibly smooth and erasing takes little to no effort at all.

Uni-ball Fanthom Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.5 mm - 8 Color Pack
I quite like the design of the pen. Although it does take a bit of strength to
pull the cap off, the mechanism itself I find it quite improved from the Pilot
FriXion. The pen does not have any grip due to the cap design.

Uni-ball Fanthom Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.5 mm - Green
Very pretty emerald green ink just like the barrel. Writes very smooth with no
leaks or skips. Erases perfectly and the top of the cap is the eraser so you
don't have to move it to erase once you're writing. Love these pens.

Uni-ball Fanthom Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.5 mm - Green
Pros - the colour is so pretty! The ink is smooth, easy to write with and does
not stain the page. The pen is comfotable enough and quite attractive.
Cons - while the ink is ersable the way the 'eraser' is designed is not as good
as it could be. The cap is the eraser and it does not do as good of a job as
the frixion erasers, it is quite hard and will ruin thinner paper. However, if
you use a frixion eraser on the fanthom ink it works a treat! The ink itself is
a little thin and gives the impression that it is running out, similar to the
early frixion pens.
Overall - I like this pen. It is the only one of this brand I have tried so I
cannot compare the brand overall, however, this pen has made it into my regulars
with the frixions. I do prefer the frixion series because the eraser works
better and I love side-knock (no caps to loose) and the ink has become more
pigmented. If the next generation fanthom had a better eraser, no cap and more
pigment (without leaving a stain) I would def be buying more colours.

Beautiful colors but after using them for prolonged times I find them to be
slightly uncomfortable against my fingers. A simple pencil wrap would aid in
this.
I do suggest the Frixion from Pilot before this one.

I hate this pen. While it does erase as advertised, I prefer my black ink to
look black rather than a faint gray. Will be looking at other brands before I
buy this pen again.

Uni-ball Fanthom Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.5 mm - Black
Great pen...Writes well and feels great in the hand. I will agree that the ink
is a bit on the lighter side of black...however I find it perfect. The erasing
aspect works as advertised!
I highly recommend.

Uni-ball Fanthom Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.5 mm - Blue
I thought I'd been sent the wrong pen, as there was no "eraser" like Frixion
pens have.. What the manufacturer calls an "eraser" i call "plastic cap". But
after looking on here, comparing pics, and trying the cap to erase, it DOES
erase. But it also dented/scratched my paper because of how hard I had to rub to
erase.
Blue shade is very pale, like a watercolor.
I prefer the outer shell of this uniball over the Pilot Frixion erasable
disposable; i think the Frixion looks a bit juvenile from the outside. But this
uniball is so unpleasant to erase with the existing eraser, that it doesn't
stand a chance against the Frixion, which is my Holy Grail of pens. I shelled
out the 20+$ for the business shell for the frixion, so it doesn't look so teeny
bopper, and will stay with that. Will not repurchase this uniball, the frixion
is way better.
