Purchased this on the styling of the barrel alone and I'm glad I did!

This pen is fatter than most ballpoints I've used and the pink coloring on the barrel is fun.

Writes similarly to an RSVP style ballpoint - thin line and all.

This review is from Uni-ball Power Tank Smart Series Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Navy Body
Wrote acceptably but the barrel fractured, rendering it dangerous to use. Very disappointing! I had high hopes for this pen. Save your money by buying the regular kind, or get a proper Fisher Space Pen.

I found the ink to be acceptable. I used this as my dedicated car-pen; in good temperatures it writes like a good ballpoint, and in sub-zero Canadian winters it writes like a thick, below-average ballpoint: that it still writes is impressive enough for me!

Unfortunately, the top of the barrel fractured, and while the pen is still intact, clicking the pen down or up you risk having the top pop off. I have stopped using it for fear of losing it forever.

Total usage: a few hundred lines in my car, and a *single day* of pocket carry, prematurely aborted because I noticed the barrel had already snapped.

I was already a fan of the Power Tank RT pens, so I was not surprised that I liked the Smart Series as well.

My biggest problem with the RT was that the clip always seemed to break after awhile. The Smart Series clip seems to be much better.

However, I like the rubber grip of the RT better than the plastic grip of the Smart Series, so I was pleased to discover that the 'click' mechanisms are interchangeable. I am now happily writing with my 'Frankenpen' that has an RT body and a Smart Series 'click' mechanism.

Although not fancy, this pen must be the best ballpoint available. A very smooth line is produced, and the long-lasting cartridge is easily replaced by unscrewing the clip & button end of the pen. Barrel colors are nice, too. I own three and I have been very pleased with this Uni-ball product.

the ink that comes out of these are great! but there is a HUGE designer flaw. after about 1 month of use, the top cracks (point where the top screws into the pen body), and the top part can fly off by clicking the pen top sharply.

i bought about 7 of these, and all of them have done it!

Silly name, great pen.

These new $3 Smart Series Power Tanks look better then the original PT line, but the grip (only grooved plastic) is a step backwards. I'll still give it a 5 based on how well it writes and the overall look.

Perfect pen to use with Field Notes' new Expedition Limited Edition; the ink doesn't smear or bleed. I use this combination of notebook and pen outdoors constantly. Temperature and moisture have no effect on either. Another outstanding product from Uni-ball.

My new favorite pen.
I believe the hype.
Silky smooth writer, dark ink, eye-catching body color... I may have to spring for the pricier one. Love this pen.

I wish I could give this 4.5 stars! I love the body, color, and nib! My only complaint is a slight tug when writing on thicker/higher quality paper! Otherwise, an excellent choice!

Not impressed - I may have a bad pen because I have yet to experience the 'smooth' quality that others have described. The ink is not that dark and does not flow like some of the Zebra Surari pens.

Overall I like these pens.

The ink is good and it's a smooth writer. The body design is good and the grip is actually not that bad, although many complain about it.

The only down side is cold temperature performance. I bought one of these to keep in the car, as I did not want to be using a metal bodied Fisher space pen in the bitter cold.

The description says "...is worthy of being used either in the military or excursions to Antarctica.".

Don't think so. It was -28°C (-18°F) this morning and this pen would not write.

BTW, my yellow version has fallen on concrete a couple of times and, although scratched, nothing has cracked! Unless you are Conan the Barbarian and are really hard on your writing instruments, I think you will be pleased with this pen.

This pen writes very smooth and I didn't have any problems with skipping. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a grip. The black part that you see is somewhat smooth like plastic and I feel like I have to struggle to get a comfortable 'hold' of the pen. There are little ridges on there, but for me, it's not enough. I would like something a little more secure in a grip. Other than that, it writes awesome! If they make one with a rubber grip or something, this would definitely be my 'go to' pen.

This is an awesome ballpoint pen! I didn't think I could say those two words together in the same sentence. Writes effortlessly like a fountain pen so you don't have to push hard and ruin your hands. The best! This picture is true to life, it's sort of a chartreuse color, in between green and yellow.
