Uni-ball Shu Pencil Lead - 0.4 mm - H

Built to last! Or at least if they were cars that is what the slogan would be for these new pencil leads. Uni-ball achieved a 20% improvement in strength with the SHU leads. That translates into more durability (won't break as easily under pressure), more consistency due to the aligned graphite pieces, and an economic advantage as the even wear of the lead will increase the length of lead life.

One secret as to how Uni-ball achieved this was to improve the structure of the lead so that graphite pieces are uniformly and densely aligned within the core.

In order, the leads are (from hardest to softest) 9H | 8H | 7H | 6H | 5H | 4H | 3H | 2H | H | F | HB | B | 2B | 3B | 4B | 5B | 6B | 7B | 8B | 9B.

The harder the pencil the lighter the mark, e.g. Bs tend to a create darker colour that can be smeared easily.
