The ink is remarkably similar to the hunter green Zebra Sarasa Retractable, which Jetpens sells. It is cheaper than this pen, writes better, and has a nicer shade of ink too (the BLX is slightly duller/darker). Overall I've been disappointed with the quality and colors of all the 207 BLX series except brown-black, only because I haven't tried it yet.

Interesting shade. I like it a lot and if it wasn't for the blue black pen, I would alternate this with the purple black.

First and foremost, I have to say - I absolutely love the green-black gel inks from Uni-ball. I've tried all the color-black inks provided by Uni Ball now and the green is definitely my favorite with the blue-black (fun for work) and lavender-black (very deep purple) versions coming in second.

With this specific pen however, it could just my perception or the fact that I usually prefer smaller nibs, I'm unsure - but I purchased this pen along with the thinner .38 Uni-Ball Signo UM-151 of the same color and this one looks darker on paper to me, almost grayish in fact. I realize with a wider nib the color is going to be a bit deeper with the thicker lines, but writing with this pen the ink doesn't look green unless you really look closely or have a pure black on the page to compare alongside. So, if you're truly wanting something subtle - this is definitely a good pick, but personally I prefer the .38 mm version of this same brand and ink color just because you pickup slightly more of the green with the thinner nib.

Love this pen. Writes a smooth clean line with the slightest hint of green. Writing with it is a pleasure. Without that, nothing else would matter. But it's also acid-free, water-resistant, fade-resistant, and archival. You can't beat that. Oh, and for less than two bucks. I mostly prefer fountain pens, but I carry this around because it weighs hardly anything, I don't have to worry about losing it, and I can write checks or notes and know they will last and be secure. What's not to like?
