I don't think there is a material difference between the ink output of the RT/DX
lines. Other than the obvious ink capacity of each refill, I prefer the
retractability, grip and design in general of the RT. Definitely one of my
favourite gel pens - it writes a lot better on 'normal' paper than the Hi-Tec-C
line, although I still prefer Hi-Tec-C 0.3mm tips if I have better quality
notebooks to use.

I am obsessed with this pen! I bought a whole box of them (10)!!! The fine
writing line is perfect for fitting a lot of information in a small space.
Especially filling out forms. I used to be a business person and was very strict
about using black ink. Whatever. I then switched to blue ink feeling it was more
expressive. The blue/black ink gives a perfect balance of color.

This is a decent pen. I like the look and feel of the Sarasas better, and I
ended up preferring their 0.5mm tip to this one's 0.38 point... it's just too
fine for me. Better suited for drawing than writing in my opinion.

I've used this pen every day for over two years. I keep them in my office, in my
handbag and at home. I write best with a slim bodied pen and love the blue-black
ink.

This pen doesn't write as small as I hoped, but I like the color and that it
doesn't smear. For smaller writing I prefer the Zebra Techno Line .4.

January 25, 2012
I was looking for a pen that has water-proof ink & retractable. This Signo RT
0.38 the best gel pen ever : )
Blue black color is very easy on eyes, and it looks beautiful on cream colored
paper. I've been using this for last half year, and now I cannot live without
it!! Grip is hard & comfortable (I don't like too soft & squishy grips...),
retractable function is really functional. Comparing to Signo(DX UM151) 0.38,
Signo RT is much better because it does not smear at all. Some colors in
Signo(DX UM151) 0.38 smears so badly...probably due to their differences in ink
flow?
I also recommend Uni-ball Signo RT in Blue, for its bright blue color.
Jetpens, will you sell the refill ink by dozen set?

AMAZING PEN! It writes super smooth and this blue black color is the best! It's
definitely the perfect blend of black and blue, not to bright, not too dark.

Uni-ball Signo RT UM-138 Gel Ink Pen - 0.38 mm - Black
While the 0.38mm tip writes fine lines, I am rather disappointed in the ink
reservoir. If you pay close attention, the inner diameter on the refill is
much smaller than most normal refillable pens which explains why these pens have
such a short lifespan. The inner diameter on this refill is 2mm (approximately
3/32”) whereas other pens, like the Zebra Sarasa or the Uni-ball Signo 0.5mm,
have a much wider inner diameter. These pens have a 5mm (approximately 5/32”)
inner diameter, resulting in 2.5 times more ink than the Signo 0.38mm RT.
It’s a great price, especially for those who love super fine tips. Me?
I’ll take the extra ink with a 0.5mm tip.

Uni-ball Signo RT UM-138 Gel Ink Pen - 0.38 mm - Black
To the guy who is complaining about the reservoir size. It isn't that the .38
size has a smaller reservoir in particular, it's that the retractable signo's as
a model have a smaller reservoir. Any size of signo DX models will have the same
size reservoir. If you want .38 and still want a big reservoir go look at the
.38 signo DXs. They also come in .28 and .5 btw. Anyways, the pen itself has
been good to me as all the models of signo I've tried have been. Other than that
sometimes not having to worry about a cap can be a good thing. Also, the grip is
farther down the pen, which is better for me because I hold pens closer to the
tip, which with the Signo DX model is pretty far up so I end up holding past the
grip anyways.

Uni-ball Signo RT UM-138 Gel Ink Pen - 0.38 mm - 8 Color Set
The first time that I used a Uni-ball Signo RT, I was in love. I had gotten it
in a random set of pens from one of my mother's co-workers who was moving to
Japan. I have spent the last six years or so trying to find more of them!
Many pens will try to measure up, but I have yet to find a pen that matches
combination of the smooth writing flow and the precision of the .38mm tip. I was
so excited to find these pens available on JetPens! I immediately bought the
8-pack, plus two black singles, a lavender-black single, as well as a blue
single. I couldn't be happier!

Uni-ball Signo RT UM-138 Gel Ink Pen - 0.38 mm - Lavender Purple Black
I love the color of this pen--so much so that I didn't realize until I tested it
against my Uni-ball Vision Elite Micro (0.5mm) purple pen that they were the
exact same color of ink! So now I have two of the same color, just different
widths. If you're looking for this color in a wider width, try the Vision Elite
in micro or bold (0.8mm) in purple.

This review is from
Uni-ball Signo RT UM-138 Gel Ink Pen - 0.38 mm - Lavender Purple Black
I love the light, ergonomic style of this pen and the fact that the soft grip
extends further down the barrel. The barrel is just right, not too slender or
too chunky. The best part of all is the fabulous ink color that is suitable for
the office as well as more informal venues. The ink is waterproof, writes
smoothly, is highly readable and easy on the eyes, and never skips. My only wish
is for a greater ink supply.
