I don't think there is a material difference between the ink output of the RT/DX lines. Other than the obvious ink capacity of each refill, I prefer the retractability, grip and design in general of the RT. Definitely one of my favourite gel pens - it writes a lot better on 'normal' paper than the Hi-Tec-C line, although I still prefer Hi-Tec-C 0.3mm tips if I have better quality notebooks to use.

I am obsessed with this pen! I bought a whole box of them (10)!!! The fine writing line is perfect for fitting a lot of information in a small space. Especially filling out forms. I used to be a business person and was very strict about using black ink. Whatever. I then switched to blue ink feeling it was more expressive. The blue/black ink gives a perfect balance of color.

This is a decent pen. I like the look and feel of the Sarasas better, and I ended up preferring their 0.5mm tip to this one's 0.38 point... it's just too fine for me. Better suited for drawing than writing in my opinion.

This has got to be my favorite pen line I have ever used. The ink is super smooth and thin, as well as the body being very light and slim to the point where I could carry nearly 5 in each pocket barely feeling it. However for this color, I feel as if there is just not enough ink to last me more than a month. I am ordering more, and hoping it doesn't have the same problem

I LOVE this pen! It writes so smoothly and the ink is fantastic. Sometimes I just stare at what I've written because it looks so good!

I've used this pen every day for over two years. I keep them in my office, in my handbag and at home. I write best with a slim bodied pen and love the blue-black ink.

This tip is a little more scratchy than its cousin, the Signo RT1 UMN-155, and so I won't be buying it again as long as the UMN-155s are available.

I purchased a sack full of pens in the 0.38-0.40mm size to find a good disposable with a a very fine point and this one was my favorite. Kind of a tossup between this, a Pilot Juice, and a Zebra Serasa but this blue/black just pops on the page much better than the other blue/blacks (this one is a bit on the green side where the others were a bit more purple). I thought the Serasa was most smooth but it was 0.4mm vs. 0.38. No pen produced a line a tight as a uni-ball Jetstream 0.38mm but that pen is not gel (it's a freak). If I could only have one pen for all purpose use, this would be it. It is cheap, it writes great, and the ink dries with decent quickness (not as quick as the pilot or zebra), and it's permanent. So i came back and bought a hand full. I nearly chose the Pilot Juice though as it seemed to have a larger ink well for the same price. Food for though there. One last thing, when I tested all the pens that I purchased one of the tests was how well the pen handled being pushed in upstroke on the page at low angle. This produced a line thickness variation when you hit the sweet spot. This pen can do that, not as good as a roller ball but it does it and the ink doesn't pile up on the tip and make blobs on the page like a ballpoint will (jetstream).
