This pen is simply awesome. The colour is beautiful and it's really smooth too. Writing with such a smooth fine point makes my normally terrible handwriting mildly legible. I'm definitely buying a multicolour set of these on my next order to replace my G-Tec-C set.

These are like the awesomest pens in the .38 category. The colors are very vibrant and they write smoothly. they are also great for sketching if you sketch with pens

These pens write the best for .38 mm. Now for some of the colors are a little off from it's barrel color. So don't buy these pens based on barrel color. The colors aren't neon-ish either. I like how each color has the same color barrel! No way you can get confused there xD

My favorite pen. Smooth consistent inkflow combined with a super dense ink formula all in a pen that's light and retractable (easy to use on the fly) makes this the first pen I grab for 99% of the time. The set is great and the extra colors really makes it a must for people who are OCD when it comes to organizing.

Color is not as nice as the Zebra Sarasa 0.4 in light pink or Morning Glory Mach II. This pink tends to be going more toward a coral which was surprising to me since the body is so pink and a nice shade of pink at that. Oh well. I may give it away.

An outstanding pen. The grip, while not soft or gimmicky, doesn't slip. The red (reviewed here) is bright and easy to see against black or blue text; the ink is bright without being watery. The choice of 0.38mm nib size is outstanding for those who tend to prefer fine text. Notice how wide the ink store is inside the refill: coupled with the fine point, the ink in these pens lasts a long time. Some reviewers complain of scratchiness; I tend to press hard when I write but I find the tip of the UM-138 delivers firm, deliberate strokes without being too scratchy. The ink never skips. I will continue to purchase these as my standard, household gel ink pen.

Overall: Okay. I personally prefer Pilot G-Knock Retractable Gel Ink Pen - 0.38 mm
for better grip and better nonslip feature of the cushion.

This pen is pretty good. The only thing that I don't like about this pen is the ink color. The color to me is not a light blue. Its too dark for me, but it is lighter then a blue color pen.

Writes very beautiful, and very smooth, glides on the paper i bought two and both stopped writing about half way. now i have a pen that doesnt write and has a barrel half full of ink :/ .it might have been the paper i used. i used it at work on copier paper. if you will be writing on cheap or regular paper i would not recommend it. it was nice while it lasted.

Great retractable pen, the 0.38 line is more like a 0.5 line, which in my opinion is better. As most of the cases, the clip is very fragile, look for the Zebra Sarasa Clip or Pilot Juice, which have a metal mechanism for more versatility in the clip.

Nice color, but scratches the paper, maybe at 0.5mm it is more soft on the paper.

I'm relatively new to the world of micro pens. The other micro pens I have are the mach IIs which are liquid ink and 0.4, the mach III (not on jetpens) which is 0.38 liquid ink, and the stylefit 0.38 gel. I will say that I am impressed with this pen. It does not skip and is pretty smooth, not to mention it's cheaper than the stylefit and has a larger ink refill. The ink refill isn't as big as it looks because the plastic walls of the refill are thick, but I'm pretty sure there's more ink than in a stylefit single refill. If you want an all purpose thin pen, I'd say based off my first impressions of writing that this is the pen for you. I haven't had this for a long time, but I am optimistic that it will turn out to be a great everyday usage pen.

Not as good as the Signo UM-151 capped pens. These retractable versions don't write as smooth and you have to press down harder in order for it to write continuously. The lavender purple black is a nice color though.

3-stars, compared to:

i compared this pen to it's .38 and .28 uni signo DX cousins, as well as a .4 hitec-c and a .3 hitec-c, on the following paper types:

- doane graphed notepad
- moleskin lined notepad (best)
- crappy ol' yellow notepad

despite being a real pleasure to write with, this pen was more wet, glossy, and slightly blotchy in comparison to it's cousins and competitors, especially at smaller fonts/letters (yes, i wrote in small and large sentences for a day to compare them!) i found that while scribbling large, fast letters, this pen started to perform better than at smaller, more casual note-taking sessions, but in those cases I preferred to reach for one of the DX or Hitec pens instead.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great pen and i hate to knock on it, but in respect to it's DX cousins and Pilot competitors, it wasn't my first choice. Your mileage may vary, enjoy!

Good pen for writing English, Chinese or Japanese. Good control, smooth and even. Good price too.

Wanted to give it 5 stars... but the ink supply runs out very quickly, compared to comparable pens, and there are no refills for my favorite colors! I love this pen, and the blue-black color also. But, I'm bummed I have to keep buying new ones so soon. Such a waste.

This pen has the best "bright" blue color !

It's ink is not too dark, not too soft. Sarasa blue is too dark & Signo Light Blue is too pale for my eyes. This Uni-ball Signo RT Blue has the most beautiful blue color. I'm only using Signo RT Blue Black & this Blue for everyday use, for journaling, note taking, and drawing. Signo RT is the best pen... : )

Awesome, you can't go wrong with these. I keep coming back to buy these, as they are great for writing notes in the hospital.

Really good pen for quick sketching. Very smooth (it occasionally has a few skips, and it will scratch, but its rare). Only real complaint I have is that the ink runs down really quickly, but then again, it is a gel pen.

LOVELOVELOVE this pen! it's a beautiful dark purple ink, comfortable to write with, and the 0.38mm tip makes my handwriting look neater. my only gripe is that i used it for about 2 months and the ink started to skip even though the ink hasn't run out yet. i like this pen so much that i'll give it 5 stars anyway. i keep this pen in my cart so i can reorder them when i want.

I think the Uni-ball Signo DX 0.38mm writes smoothly that this pen. As I try to compare the 2 at the same time, for the DX, the tip glides smoothly as you write. For this pen, the tip comes too sharp that it doesn't glide.

I used this kind of uni in my high school (more than 5 years ago), at that time, I thought these gel pens were very good.

However, when using this 0.38 pen today, I think it's kinda of scratching paper. The friction is so uncomfortable to me. I used to have high expectation for uni-signo 207 0.38mm blue/black too, but it turns out they're waste of money.

So far, I could not find any other comfortable, high-quality and elegant writing instruments like Uni-ball Jetstream Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Alpha Gel Grip Series. I changed all my pencil,ball pens,multiple pens and ink pens to the alpha gel grip ones.

I love everything about this pen:
* the dark purple color is attractive and easy to read
* the barrel is the perfect size and type of non-slip grip
* the .38 point isn't the least bit scratchy and lays down a consistent line of ink

This has become my go-to pen and I'm back to order more colors!

My goodness, what a smooth, creamy line! The only thing that would improve this would be a pivot-clip (like the Zebra pens). I am smitten!
