The quality of both the covers and paper is very nice. The mountains are
beautiful, and I bought them specifically for logging my road trip through the
Blue Ridge Mountains. That, and I wanted to try out Word Notebooks, and this is
my first set. I'm pleased so far.
One other reason I bought them was that I wanted a pocket notebook that handled
fountain pen ink well. I had read reviews claiming that these notebooks did just
that. However, after testing with a Kaweco Classic Sport Extra-Fine nib and
Diamine Poppy Red ink, I have to disagree.
They do not handle fountain pen inks well at all.
There is a LOT of feathering. As far as notebooks handling fountain pen inks, I
can stand some show through, but feathering just completely ruins it for me.
This notebook fails miserably in the feathering dept. Other pocket notebooks
that do it better include the Doane Small Utility Notebook, and the Field Notes
Workshop Companion series.
