I've three of these for several years and use them for keeping all pencils of the same type or brand together. The fabric and construction are sturdy and hold up well over time. Of course, they get a bit bulky when full. A long, sharpened pencil that isn't tucked firmly inside the roll might lose its point, but that could happen with any pencil roll case, and that's been the only downside. It's not as "pretty" as some of the fancier fabric roll cases, but I prefer this for practical ease of storage and use.

Great for hauling a full set of 36 colored pencils around for field work and coloring on-the-go. This versatile Niji roll-up pouch measures 19" X 7 3/4" when unrolled, and it can hold up to 36 mechanical pencils, leadholders, markers, and brushes individually in its own elastic loop. Depending on circumstances and available space, it can be rolled, folded, or hung for easy access. During flights, I tend to drape a pencil wrap over my leg. That way I can keep working on my clipboard with all my tools within reach.

At home or studio, it makes a pretty good choice for organizing and storing an ever growing collection of art supplies. Just a friendly reminder for my students, I typically do not haul around a roll loaded with my entire collection of mechanical pencils. While I may bring many samples for show-and-tell in class, it is not a good idea given the risk of losing all of them at once. On the subject of loss prevention, I also recommend placing your loaded roll within a ziploc bag for extra safety and added water resistance. Bottom line, get several of these rolls if you like collecting tools or own multiple pencil sets.
