This is my second Zebra Expandz and its only because the pen color (light blue)
was suited more for my wife. The black is a bit more masculine. I enjoy
carrying the Expandz clipped to my front pants pocket right next to my AA Cree
flashlight. They are a perfect match for those of us who are minimalist EDC
fanatics.
My preference of ink is blue. I did switch the original black ink which came
with this pen over to blue ink. You might want to order a refill
If you like to streamline your typical everyday carry, this is the pen for you.
The pen has a good "weight" to it and is not sloppy in it movement. You won't
be disappointed. Go for it!

This is an excellent pocket pen. It feels sturdy and has some weight to it like
a quality full-size pen. The sliding mechanism that extends the pen and exposes
the tip works smoothly and can be operated with one hand when the situation
calls for it. It uses Zebra's F type refills which are readily available in many
stores. The ink is not as good as Zebra's Surari emulsion ink, but still better
than your average ballpoint pen ink.

I still have my first Zebra Expandz pen.
Since I've always carried pens in my trouser pants pocket, I've often lost them
or run them through the washing machine. With the Zebra this doesn't happen.
It's small enough and heavy enough to stay in the bottom of my pocket,
especially when sitting and (being quite tall) my knees lift above chair level
which has led to other lighter pens falling out. Also, it's an unusual pen, so
not to be confused with more common pens, ownership of which can be confusing.
It's not an excuse for a 'collapsible' pen. Extended, the leverage and heft make
it feel even better than your average lightweight pen. Using standard refills is
also a plus.
A wonderful pen. Some of the paint is wearing off, giving the pen a wonderful
well-used, burnished look.
It can be hilarious when friends ask to borrow a pen. Adults take a while to
figure out how to open it. Kids get it faster.
Please keep making this pen. It's a wonderful stocking stuffer, too.

This pen is very good. Its retractable mechanism is very unique in its small
style. The back and front has a good weight to it making it feel comfortable is
your hand like its a very different from other pens. I like the smooth
retractable part of the pen its not stuffy or like clogged up type of feeling
like a good swipe felling. The one flaw is that when you try to open the pen (to
refill it or fix) either way you turn the grip it makes this very unpleasant
sound like its breaking or rubbing against something hard. Overall the pen is
awsome !! It was worth the wait and the buy.

Wasn't quite as sturdy as I expected, but not a slouch either. The ink is where
it loses a star. After writing with the Zebra surari ink, this just doesn't
compare. If it had the emulsion ink, it would 5 *'s easily. The ink was reason
enough for me to give it to my wife. I write very small and I need a crisp ink.
This didn't fit the bill. Aside from that great pen with great slide action.

This review is from
Zebra Expandz Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - White Body - Black Ink
Very similar (nearly identical) to the Zebra Telescopic. This version is a
little thicker and heavier, which I like.
On the other hand, it uses Zebra's F refill, which is not the worst ballpoint,
but I'm determined to find an alternate cartridge that will work for this.
