For an inexpensive mechanical pencil this one does fine, especially considering it has a shaker mechanism (which I personally never use). It is broader than most other mechanical pencils and has a decent grip, nothing fancy. It also has a twist-advancing eraser. The shaker mechanism gives it a nice weight. The little metal tip is a nice touch and does not retract into the plastic housing. Also, the barrel might looked ribbed in the photo, but it is completely round.

I would compare this to the Pentel Twist-Erase III, and overall I would say the TE III is a better mechanical pencil because of its grip and eraser. You can easily find TE III eraser refills anywhere but I imagine erasers for the Zebra Fullst are hard to come by.
