Had this pen for at least a year now. I'm not brutal with my keys as such, but the Penpod has held up without breaking off or cracking! Usually carry a pen in my bag, but when I forget, this little guy has spared me from having to use *gasp* public pens that every unwashed hand has already touched! ;) Just used it yesterday at the doctor's office and kinda wish I had more than one set of keys so I had a ready excuse to get it in other colors. Definitely too small for extended writing. Remember to pop the pen securely back in the spring-loaded cap.

Amazing pen for a keyring. Best one I've ever used because it's so short and easy to carry, yet expands to a reasonable length. I immediately bought several in different colors because I wanted to be sure I'd always have one handy.

I did have the problem of the pen opening by accident and lost a couple that way. Finally solved the problem with an o-ring (from the local hardware store) that fits around the top of the pen just below the wide end part. The o-ring narrows the gap between the pen and cap so that it takes a little more effort to push them together to release the cap. It has worked perfectly ever since.

O-rings in basic black are a perfect match for the black penpod, but I've never seen o-rings in colors. So I use small rubber bands that match the colors of the caps, and with several twists around the pen, they make passable substitutions for o-rings. I found tiny, bright colored rubber bands in the hair accessories department of my local pharmacy that work quite well.
