I loved the idea of this pen, but the spring-loaded top meant that the pen would often shoot out of the cap unexpectedly and I ended up losing it eventually because of that.

Had this pen for at least a year now. I'm not brutal with my keys as such, but the Penpod has held up without breaking off or cracking! Usually carry a pen in my bag, but when I forget, this little guy has spared me from having to use *gasp* public pens that every unwashed hand has already touched! ;) Just used it yesterday at the doctor's office and kinda wish I had more than one set of keys so I had a ready excuse to get it in other colors. Definitely too small for extended writing. Remember to pop the pen securely back in the spring-loaded cap.

I make chatelaines: useful tool collections for modern living (like Every Day Carry, only on a chain or belt clip). Some are old fashioned in appearance for my Steampunk line, and some are modern like this particular pen. It is so handy that I use one myself in my knapsack tool kit. A word about how it fits in the cap: don't hang this anywhere the pen is likely to get pressure from under or over it, because it can release the pen with the slightest movement and good luck finding it again. That "push and twist" makes it vulnerable to loss under very active conditions. My go-to EDC pen is the Fisher Bullet Pen, but this one is very light weight and useful. If it's on something around your neck you wouldn't even feel it.
