It is all about smoothness with the Zebra R-301 rollerball pen, which sports a sleek, stainless steel body and dispenses smooth-flowing liquid ink in solid, bold lines. Writing is comfortable due to the non-slip textured grip. The ink comes in cartridges that are easy to install. Two black ink cartridges are included, and more are available separately.

Here's the thing about this pen- I WANT to like it a lot more than I do. It writes beautifully, and I'm not really a rollerball kind of guy, the ink is very nicely black, but the entire experience is thrown off by one nitpicky but huge problem: the cap. There is no earthly reason for a pen's cap to rattle around this much when you're writing, and it's an awful distraction. Take the cap off when you're writing and the balance is all wrong, leave it on and it feels like you're playing the maraca with every stroke. It's very annoying. Other than that, though, it's an excellent pen for the price!

The pen itself looks and feels great and the ink is nice and dark, but I sould have gone with a smaller line width. Pen writing was runny and thick at best.

Super smooth, super black. I like how it looks.

I get what others are saying about the cap. When the pen is capped or posted you can kind of wiggle it. Seems strange, but unlike others, it doens't bother me while I write.
