Zebra has done a superb job combining all the desirable characteristics of a fine tipped gel ink pen into one creation - the Sarasa Push Clip.

The Sarasa features a fine 0.4 mm gel pen tip that is sturdy enough to endure hard writing pressure, drops, and other pen abuses. It's also retractable, and is equipped with a binder clip that allows it to clip onto thicker object without breaking. It has smooth writing, is affordable, and is even made of recycled plastic. All of these characteristics make it a favorite for travelers and office workers who want a high quality pen you can take anywhere, and yet lose without too much monetary sorrow.

The gray ink is very light (lighter than pencil) and did not seem to flow as smoothly as some of the other colors. The sharp 0.4mm point may be too fine for this ink or it could be that the light color encouraged me to write with more pressure. In any case, this is a combination I will not buy again.

I love this pen! The ink flow is great and the line width is uniform with no skips or blobs. It writes very smoothly, even in cursive. I use this pen to write notes in the margin of my Bible. The ink does not bleed through the super thin pages and is not even visible through them (which is not the case with regular black pens). I found it to be a beautiful subtle color that is easy on the eyes. Love the clip, too. It slips easily over notebook covers. This is my #2 pen. If I'm not writing in blue-black, then I'm using this one.

This is perhaps my favorite Sarasa Clip color. It's so pretty! And I agree it's like writing in pencil, but unlike graphite, the writing won't smudge and the line width will be uniform. The color is most effective as writing side comments or footnotes, or writing on the fronts and backs of thin paper, as it won't bleed through like darker colors.

Like previous reviews I found that the gray color was VERY light, almost too light by my standards. I also found that the ink doesn't flow anywhere near as smoothly as my blue-black Sarasa, though I suspect this may be due to me unconsciously pressing down harder because I expect a darker color.

With that said, I do enjoy the idea of a gray ink for notetaking; it's a lot easier on the eyes than black or blue. I'll probably continue to use the pen but next time I'd buy a 0.5 or 0.7 in hopes of getting better ink flow.
