2011 was a banner year for new products at JetPens. Sure, we all keep loading up on old standbys like the Pilot Hi-Tec-C and Lamy Safari, but the New Arrivals section was the place to be this year. Here are a few of my favorite products introduced in 2011.
More than just a pencil case, the Lihit Lab Teffa Bag in a Bag can carry your entire writing arsenal. The A5 size easily holds a notebook or your favorite e-reader in the main compartment, and the multiple exterior compartments hold your phone, camera, pens, refills and more. All colors and sizes have been flying off the shelf since the day they arrived.
If a self-proclaimed pen addict can fall in love with a wood case pencil then it must be good. The Palomino Blackwing 602 is more than good - it is fantastic. The original 602 was widely recognized as one of the best pencils ever created and the new version lives up to the historical hype.
The E+M Workman Pocket Clutch Lead Holder takes a minimalistic approach to a classic writing instrument. Designers and artists love the compact size and bright beech wood barrel colors. There are even a rainbow of lead refills available.
I ask customers frequently what products would they like to see us carry and the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner was mentioned more than any other product in 2011. They feature a metal-clad tip which makes the tip durable when used against a ruler, and are dry-safe, meaning they can be left safely uncapped for days and pick right up where they left off.
It was a great year for new products in 2011. What were some of your favorites?
