An interview series featuring notable people within the pen, art, and design worlds. Now a highly sought-after director and storyboard artist, Dan Fraga first entered into the scene honing his talents as a comic book artist. Join us as we take a look into his creative mind.
Please tell us about yourself and what you do. My name is Dan Fraga. I am a director, sequence designer, doodler, and former comic book artist from Southern California. I write with pictures. I feel that everyday is an opportunity to better yourself and enrich other's lives around you. The kind of work I do varies from project to project. In a nutshell, I'm hired for my imagination and ability to meet clients' needs. Those needs range from simple keyframe illustrations, sequence design all the way up to directing full seasons of television shows. The most recent show being The Ricky Gervais Show for HBO and sequence design for Hershey's commercials. In my free time, (which is usually sitting on the couch with my wife, after the kids are in bed) I love to do what I call "couch doodles". They're sort of a combination of practice and mental unloading. It's a lot of fun and very gratifying.
