Ohto is a Japanese pen and pencil company, and they have produced one of the most customizable, adjustable drafting pencils available on the market. There are specifically five things that you can adjust with this drafing pencil.

The first one is the guide pipe length. By twisting the grip, you can extend the guide pipe from zero to four millimeters. But say, you don't typically use four millimeters. You might only use two millimeters or one millimeter as your guide pipe length. Well in that case, you can set the maximum guide pipe length by twisting this front knob here. By twisting it to the right, you can shorten the maximum guide pipe length, and you can adjust it anywhere from a zero to four millimeter extension. So when I twist it over to the right, by twisting this grip around, it will only go up to that maximum length.

A third thing you can adjust is how much lead is dispensed with every push of the top cap. To do this, you twist the middle knob here. By twisting it more to the right, you will increase the amount of lead that is dispensed. This might be useful, say, for example if you have a heavy hand. You might want less lead that's dispensed because you want to reduce lead breakage when you write. On the other hand, if you have a light hand, you might want to increase the amount of lead that's dispensed.

A fourth thing that you can adjust with this pencil is you can remove the clip, by twisting this top knob here, you can take the clip off and the body will become clipless.

And of course, the fifth thing you can adjust is this lead indicator value at the top of the cap by twisting the knob up and down, you can have the lead indicator match the hardness of the lead that you are using.
