A thin gel pen with a dark red ink?
CiaoBonefish - 04 Nov 2009, 05:22 pm
I love fine point gel pens. Anything from the .25 to the .5 range is acceptable, but I love a point between or at .3-.4 . My dilemma is that most ink colors are either bright red, or a darker bronish red or a darker red violet. I'm having a hard time finding a truly DARK RED pen and not a maroon or bright red one. Anyone care to help me out?
Thanks!

What pens have you tried that missed the mark? The only red-black I have on hand right now is the Signo DX .38 in Bordeaux Black, which I've also seen labeled as Maroon.

Well that is my problem... I CANT FIND A PEN TO TRY. I bought the wine red hi tec c but it was a bit tool cool for my taste. Bordeaux black is actually on my list of things to order next from jet pens (and now that the pilot parallel pens are back in stock I may order again soon)...
I end up using fountain pens for satisfy my deep red ink taste, but i really dislike carrying fountainpens with me :/

Speaking of fountain pens, have you tried the Pilot Penmanship? That one has an amazingly fine tip -- it writes as fine as my HiTecC in .4. It writes pretty smoothly for such a fine nib. It's only $7.50 -- seems like a good bet for carrying around.

No I have not actually. I have quite a few Dux fountain pens lying around. About five of the 612 variety. I'm hesitant to buy more until I get some cash because I also want to test out the Lami Vista. As of right now the pilot parallels are on my list. What I really need is a supremely portable fountain pen or a fountain pen proof case. blah... but I really love gel pens! Going to get Bordeaux Black soon and I'll let you guys know how that goes!
