Back-to-school goodies, steals, and hauls!!!!

JonelB - 16 Jul 2009, 10:42 pm
So far I've managed:
from Office Depot:
-some stickable/sortable post-it index cards for 50 cents a pack
-some 4x6 graphed index cards, 50 cents a pack
-some 5x8 graphed index cards, 50 cents a pack

Walgreens:
-3 packs of 10pack Page protectors, 39 cents a pack
-a new pair of fiskars scissors with eraser blade cap, 79 cents
-4 packs of notebook paper, 130 sheets each, 2/$1

Also, the Quo Vadis Blog just had their bastille day Promotion(free fountain pen ink!). I suggest you start following them and get in on the next one!

Also, if anyone finds anything related that is on sale, go ahead and post it here.
Currently have a $25 gift certificate to jetpens that I'm putting off using so I can use it for a back-to-school present to myself.

I had some spare change in my desk at work so I collected SOME of it and headed to staples to buy more notebooks... LOL... I bought 12 last week and now 15 more today.... for a total of 27...

Then I went into an Office Depot a couple of blocks away and was shocked. They had 100-page spiral notebooks (college ruled) for..... $3.99 EACH!!! srsly!!!!! so guess what.

I think I'm going back to staples sometime soon to get more of these.... If a similar notebook (i know the office depot one has more pages) is that expensive, i'm really going to hoard these.....

************ UPDATE JULY 22 - I bought 15 more of these notebooks today... bringing my total # of notebooks to 42. LOLOLOLOL!

The other day:
-A 5x7 mead covered spine notebook. It's very...squareish. but it's in red, so I like it.
-a pack of 25 page protectors for a quarter.
-a 3rd spare highlighter/flag marker for 50 cents.(Yellow Highlighter, red flags)

And then in the mail:
-a free pentel energel(o.7, black)

I currently have another pentel energel and a "surprise" from pentel in the mail--the "surprise" should be interesting.
Also, I won a Zazzle.com giveaway for a free pack of business cards, all I had to pay was the $3.99 shipping, so the 100-pack I chose should come in handy...

sh00k, I was in Walmart yesterday and they had one-subject notebooks for 25 cents each.

I didn't buy anything, though. No, really, I didn't. Ok, I did buy a pack of TinkerBell pencils for $1. They were just too cute.
onelonegunman - 04 Aug 2009, 10:18 am
Last school year Wal-Mart had 70 page, one subject, college ruled notebooks on sale for... $0.05 each! I must have bought 50 of them! :D
JonelB - 04 Aug 2009, 01:19 pm
Heh. Some of the best sales I've run across are when the places are cleaning out last year's school supplies for the next year. I'm starting to get the flag pen/highlighters for super-cheap because they're starting to go into Dirt Cheap.

I also got this umbrella:
Image
which is normally $22.99, for $4.80. ^.^

both fortunately(and unfortunately) I'm basically set for life as far as notebooks go....and I've had to tell myself "no" lately when I find a notebook at dirt cheap for $1 or something...I need to start working through the ones I have. And after two more years of college classes, I won't be able to use the mead covered spine notebooks without looking like a wierdo...
sh00k - 04 Aug 2009, 02:46 pm
LOL. you guys are finding great deals. Wow, 1-subject notebooks for a nickel? I feel like I am getting ripped off now at 33 cents a piece... LOLOL.

anyway, I bought more notebooks. I think I am up to 56 now and don't plan on buying anymore. I seriously will run through these in a year. LOL.

anyway, I am holding off on my purchases til the end of the month when the back-to-school sales start!
sh00k - 06 Aug 2009, 04:32 pm
Whoa ---

Freesnatcher posted this up. I haven't gotten to check this out yet, but if you have a Kmart close by, it's totally worth it. I'm going to try for the Kleenex, and definitely the sharpie.

I have the reciepts for the ~54 notebooks i bought from staples... im wondering if i should really be cheap, return them, then pick them up again for a penny each! LMAO. or i can tell them to match the price..... hahahahaha... im terrible
Big Boss G - 10 Sep 2009, 10:00 am
I missed that sale at Staples.

=(

I still have a ton of notebooks and stuff but - i can always use more.

1c notebooks are AWESOME

Wal-Mart had 1 subj notebooks for 15c like Target.
I'm set for like a year or two lol

And I'm still waiting for the last-minute back-to-school sales
to stock up on more!
sh00k - 14 Sep 2009, 10:56 am
You didn't miss much. The limit was 6 notebooks per person but, to me, it wasn't worth it since the lines were insane. Yesterday, I went out to a couple of staples in Queens, NY and could not even find parking. I parked outside the lots and when I went into the staples, it looked like a madhouse.

The lines and conditions of the isles made me leave like 2 minutes later. I'll go get more goodies once Staples looks like a staples again. LOL

well... i finished my BA - graduated with honors - and started taking 1 masters course for now... i realized that i will not have the same workload as i did with undergrad - ie, 4-5 courses at a time - so i returned 30 of the approximately 60 notebooks i bought from staples.

also, on this site full of pen addicts, i am embarassed to admit that i will not be buying any more stationary for a while... i've kept an eye on staples all summer and they really didnt have anything that caught my eye.............

but i have to reorder some slicci pens... the .7mm is incredible...
piper10 - 29 Sep 2009, 11:45 am
Congratulations on finishing your degree! :D

And I agree on the .7 Slicci. As much as I love fine points, the .7mm Slicci in sky blue is my favorite pen, bar none.
sh00k - 29 Sep 2009, 12:24 pm
piper!

thanks so much :D i still have a lot of math/verbal work to do (taking gre soon) so i know im going to use the notebooks that i bought. not so sure about the pens though...

starting next fall, i am going to be taking 3-4 masters courses again so maybe at that time, i'll get back to going through notebooks/paper/pens more quickly but until then, im taking a break. LOL.

agreed - the slicci's are awesome. they're sooo fluid and natural on paper. i think it's the most fave pen in my collection. but then again i have many favorites. LOL.

Sh00k,

Congratulations! on finishing your Undergrad. with Honors! (Hopefully, in a couple of semesters i will finish up my Computer Engineering degree, but i am not so sure about the "Honors" part).

I love Slicci, in fact, according to Passion's post, metallic Sliccies are arriving soon, and they look gorgeous!: http://www.pentel.co.jp/newproduct/metalicci/index.html

nandanam,

Thanks so much but I have a long road ahead of me still. finishing my BA is a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of my studies. I'm just glad to get it out of the way...

Cool - metal Sliccis! I'm def. going to be placing my order for these once they get here!

congrats on almost completing your degree. you're well on your way and we're waiting for your post when you say you've graduated! ;]

Sh00K,

I am sure you will do fine with the rest of your studies as well, just keep on going! :D

By the way, Japan's version of the new Pentel metallic Sliccis is available here at JetPens: http://www.jetpens.com/advanced_search_result.php?x=0&y=0&keywords=slicci+metallic

Barrels for the International version of the metallic Pentel Sliccis look a lot different from the Japanese domestic version, but i don't really care too much for the barrel colors, i am here for the Slicci ink baby! :D I just placed an order for metallic Sliccis through JetPens. WooHoo!
