Ergonomic or fat pens

holgalee - 22 Dec 2008, 12:26 am
Hi. I'm wondering about 'fat' pens. Okay, not very fat, but comfortably wider than normal stick pens. Those I've seen tend to have cushy gel or rubbery grips which I don't like coz they feel icky to me. Also, they tend to weigh half a tonne. Are there any gel or roller ball pens that do not have those yucky grips, are fairly light weight, yet write well? I like tips and inks that are smooth, so perhaps at least 0.6mm will be good. TIA!

If you can afford it, the Pilot Timeline. I’d get the gel ones if I could, heh.

Thanks, Pink Ink! It looks lovely, doesn't it? I can stretch my budget (unwillingly ) but I tend to hold my pen quite close to the tip. I think the design of Timeline may make that difficult, but I'll look out for the pen nonetheless!

I really like the way the Timelines look but I would have to be sure that they write say as smooth as a jet stream pen before I buy one , from what I have been reading they may just be worth it (I'm thinking of getting the gel one.)
I also write very close to the tip so that is another concern for me too. Have reviewed yours yet holgalee?
I was also looking at jbox.com today and did a search for pens and some pretty interesting ergonomic/fat pens came up.

Hi Nosferatuia, I haven't used the pen much. I had really wanted the gel ink instead of ballpoint version, and didn't realise that I can't use a G2 refill in the ballpoint version. Also, the ballpoint ink is black, which I'm not very fond of. Once I get the blue refill, I'll use the pen more often and hopefully get around to writing a review on it!
