Loose-leaf narrow lined paper

Passion - 24 May 2009, 04:07 pm
At school we have to use loose-leaf paper for most of our assignments and I want to know if there is a such thing as "narrow lined" paper. What I mean is, paper that has lines that are closer together than college ruled.

Yes. It's called, of all things, "Narrow Ruled" Lose Leaf Notrbook paper. Staples sells their own brand which is pretty cool. It's 8-1/2 x 11 and comes in a 400 sheet pack. Not cheap though! Item# 849398. On-line I found a "Roaring Springs Paper Product" Narrow Ruled pack of 150 sheets. Item# 83934. But price wise Staples is a better buy. I don't think that Office Depot nor Office Max carries narrow ruled notebook paper. Narrow ruled used to be as common as wide ruled, but I'm afraid those days are long gone. Even collage ruled is getting harder to find!

Hope that this helps. Please let us know if you find an outlet I've missed!

Sweet thanks. I gotta head over to Staples. Maybe I'll go today... How much is the pack? Do you know off the top of your head?

I hate that wide ruled paper is becoming the norm. I makes people's handwriting messier and wastes space. Sorry for the mini rant haha

alternatively - you can print your own paper! i use my pens on staples and other brand graph paper and what sucks is that the ink bleeds to he otherside. so i now print my own graph paper using microsoft excel onto 20 pound paper. and the quality is great. the paper is definitely heavy, and it makes my binder heavy, but at least my pages look awesome! 8)

so give that a shot. you can google how to make your own graph paper in excel. you can probably do narrow college ruled too - just dont print the vertical lines.

fwiw.

Target! in fact they're on sale this week!

I bet if i wait a few more weeks, they prices will be even lower.

50c i think, for a pack of collage or narrow looseleaf.

and a 4pk of notebooks for 60c.

Does anyone know what stores carry 10/$1 notebooks?

I hate having to search around - I'd love to have a store list, and time frame, too....

I know around Aug Sept, prices get lower, for school stuff.

But w/ me it's usually hit and miss....

10$1 notebooks? Are you talking cheap spiral-bounds or smaller pocket notebooks?
I got a ton of the cheap spiral bounds for 10/$1 a while back, from a local closeout store. their paper quality is seriously lacking, though.

cheap-ass spiral notebooks :)
I don't mind it if they're cheap.

On the other hand, for my poetry, I like composition notebooks. Dollar store is fine.

Everything else - quality-wise is fine w/ me. Strangely, i like the thin looseleaf. That's just me i guess :) But i also like the more expensive-er () stuff.

yeah -- for my math work, which is essientally just practice - i dont mind the thin paper although it does tend to let ink leak onto the other side.. i have found that to be the case regardless of which pen i use. i did notice that with ballpoints, the leaking through is less visible than with gel pens.

for my precious class notes, i use the paper that i print out... nice, thick 20# paper. you barely notice anything on the other side after filling up a page.

Yeah, w/ my Dong-A iMail pens, the ink bleeds thru very easily on the cheap paper. Actually: even easier than any other gel pen I've used.
On the reverse side, i sometimes will skip that line, when writing letters to my friend, becuse it makes it unreadable. Also - they're not good for fountain pens either. Unless i just use one side of the paper. But i like to use both sides, so i don't waste paper :)

Hi-Tec C's don't! :D

Levenger has pads that they call micro-rule (3/16")
as well as pads, notebooks/journals with 1/4 rules or grids.

Micro-Rule would be good for the Hi Tec C's :)

Back in college as a science major, I used narrow ruled paper and with my ultra-fine point pens, I still found I wrote smaller than even that. I used to fit two lines of text within the one line. I love my 0.2 mm pencils, and now with the 0.3 and 0.4 refills, those days are back, although my eyesight is not what it used to be back in those days!

W/ my hi-tec-c's i've gotten up to 4 lines on wide-ruled pages.
I think i could get 3 or 4 lines on narrow-ruled! =D
