Passion - 09 Jun 2009, 06:22 pm
Yay! A HI-TEC-C body that can hold 4 ink colors. Into the cart it goes.

hawt! Might be enough to swing my forthcoming jetpens order over to the Coleto from the Sliccies.
Passion - 09 Jun 2009, 06:41 pm
I jsut ordered the sliccies body for the first time. Can't wait to try that bad boy out :P
Crazytales - 09 Jun 2009, 06:51 pm
I'm still leaning toward the Sliccies over the Coleto because I've read that Hi-Tec-C's tend to have fragile points... very bad for clumsy me as i drop pens taking them out of my pocket all the time. I also use medium-high pressure on the paper. (though surprisingly I've never suffered even one lead breakage with my Kuru Toga)
Passion - 09 Jun 2009, 06:59 pm
The only time I have EVER had a problem with my coletos was when my friend walked past my desk and knocked it onto the tiled floor tip first, which was very unlikely. The pen still wrote, but it was less smooth.
I imagine that the sillicies will be equally weak if they are equally thin.
However, I've never tried them, so I can't be sure.
JonelB - 09 Jun 2009, 06:59 pm
I've always had a bad experience with multi-pens...are the Coletos and Sliccis better than your average ballpoint pen when it comes to multi-pens? Part of my problem was getting the pen to write, and not have to be stabbed into the paper to put down a real line.
I think my biggest worry is that the body wears out quickly and the inserts won't hold in place when I clicky them down(from the above problem).
I've not tried a Slicci or Hi-Tec-C Coleto yet, but I have a Slicci coming in the mail(Pentel did a Slicci Giveaway on thier twitter yesterday).

I would rather have a 4-color model than a 2 or 3-color one though, so if I can hear back from my fellow pen peoples on the above questions...
Passion - 09 Jun 2009, 07:03 pm
The HI-TEC-C hasn't worn out in any way on me for the three years I've been using the same body.
They write the second they touch the paper. I would definatly recomend these pens to you.

Thanks for replying so fast.
Hrm....I guess after I test out the free slicci I won, I'll order a Coleto body and some of the refills from jetpens....

You won't be sorry if you like fine-point gel pens. :)

btw, that twilight scrip on your blog is the funniest thing I have ever read.

I actually am somewhat unsure about the fine-point part, but I like the Pilot Latte and the Sakura Gelpens so far.

Hee. I stole the Twilight script from another website. I linked back to it, but it was just so amusing I had to repost it, with my own annotations.
Passion - 09 Jun 2009, 09:25 pm
I recomend the .4 or .5 ink cartridges for the Hi-tec btw. The .3 is too thin and easily damaged. The .5 runs out of ink fast, so the one I use is .4. A nice balance.
The twilight script was perfection :)

I know what you mean, but since we are all members of JetPens forum, we can all relate to pen/pencils/stationery addictions, right? So, in this forum there is nothing "worst' about pen addiction. I believe this the THE ONE place where i won't be judged because of my thirst for all of the things mentioned above.
"I have a dream that one day this JetPens forum nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its pen addiction: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all pen addicts are created equal and hence we can relate to each other." (but we do judge a pen by its colors and brands. Whoops!

Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

Please not i am just trying to be goofy here, hopefully i am not offending anyone?! I am saying this because please do not take it in any other sense, but just in the spirit of JetPens forum/community.
Passion - 11 Jun 2009, 09:45 pm
Nice speech :)

Update: I have ordered a 10-color set of the 0.4mm refills from ebay and will be getting a clear 4-color body and a black 4-color body from jetpens sometime next week, along with a bottle of noodler's ink in Widow Maker + something else to round out the free shipping, I'm just not sure what it is yet.

Also, there is a kitten sleeping on my keyboard tray.

That is all.

Yes, I am owned by several.
7, in fact, that recently swelled to 8.
We live in the country so it's not a big deal.
5 outside, 2, now 3 inside. One is still at the evil age of being too cute to punish for getting into things.
Explaining them all will take a very long time. Let's just say...they're very condusive to napping, lying around, and eating.
onelonegunman - 13 Jun 2009, 11:02 pm
WOW! You beat me by 2 cats! We don't live in the country so all 5 live indoors. We have 2 to 3 that we feed outside but only one of those lets us pet her. I never in my life thought that I'd ever have a single cat as a pet, more the less 5! That's what I get marrying a cat person! 8)

Hee. Cats are great muses. Take care of them, and they'll take care of you.
We also have two dogs and the cats beat up on them quite a bit.....

It's related to writing, I think. I know a lot of people who are writers and have cats.
Passion - 14 Jun 2009, 12:25 pm
Interesting, I think you're right. One of my friends has written many short stories and a novel and she used to own a cat. (died recently :()
JonelB - 14 Jun 2009, 01:13 pm
Neil Gaiman is also a big cat person, he tends to put cats in a lot of his stories, and sphinxes, as well.
Cats always have such personalities, unlike dogs, that are always affectionate and up for petting and cuddling, cats can range from "meh" to "don't touch me!". We have one that likes having his tail pulled.
Also, I have refined playing with cat toys to an art. You can usually tell who's had experience with cats by how they play with a stick toy.

I met one last year that would fetch his toy and bring it back for people to throw it for him again. Odd cat. He was sweet, though.

I'll second that. Our two cats are my greatest source of inspiration. It could also be pen-related as No. 4 Cat likes stealing and playing with my pens - there's nothing like the feeling of cat spit on your favourite pen!

Cheers,
Sam

:D Quite the connection we've made. Perhaps we've just solved a global mystory.
JonelB - 15 Jun 2009, 10:04 am
Perhaps. We'll need to run a few experiments and start making graphs first.
Perhaps with time it could be a proven theory, much like the "suffer to write" idea.
JonelB - 25 Jun 2009, 10:11 pm
