Pilot Petit1: To Post or Not To Post
onelonegunman - 12 Feb 2009, 07:34 pm
I am an advocate of posting when it comes to stick pens and their variants. But with the Pilot Petit1 I have found that using the pen not posted is as comfortable as using it posted. The reason being is when using it not posted the butt of the pen rests in the web of my hand and seems to me to be as comfy to write with as it is when posted and used in the normal manner. Has anyone else found this to be true for them? Curious minds want to know!... OK, OK, me, Igor, The Doctor and 5 cats want to know!

I seldom post any pens, but particularly fountain pens. I have the same problem--the edge of the cap hits me in the web between thumb and index finger--and I find it really irritating. This seems to be true with most fountain pens, not just the Pilot Petit. Fortunately I have small hands so writing with even small pens unposted is not a problem.
I don't post stick pens either unless I'm writing on a bus or train and could lose the cap. But stick pens usually just have a little cap that sits way up at the top so they don't cause the same problem as fountain pen caps.

hahaha. I wonder if I'm the only one who got that joke.
I always post my pens because I like the extra length it provides and since I do most of my writing in school, posting eliminates the chance of losing my cap.

I post the pilot petit1, but that's the only pen I do post. all the others it's pen in left hand, cap in right and palm of right to steady the notebook or paper I'm writing on.
