Taking tiny notes!
lilychu - 10 Aug 2005, 08:06 pm

I like using the Hi-Tec-C .25 pen to take super small and compact notes for my midterms and finals. Once for my Intro to Material Science class, I had to fit all my notes on a half page for a test. I thought that wasn't enough room, but I ended up writing so small that I only used half the space I had! :D

Wow. That's tiny! How did you ever find what you were looking for on the card with that much info??

Yeah, actually the funny thing is I DID have problems finding what I was looking for. I put so much stuff on that sheet of paper that during the midterm I found myself looking all over the place for something I vaguely remembered writing down. Haha, next time I'll hold myself back from going too crazy with the pen. ;D

That is hilarious! A good friend of mine used the same color (I think) Hi-Tec-C but in 0.4mm to make his Materials Science Thermodyanmics cheat sheet. It looks exactly the same format as yours too!
Feel free not to answer but what school do you go to Lily?

I guess I should answer my question first. I go to Northwestern University.

Stanford University, Management Science and Engineering Degree. I had to take the class for my engineering fundamental requirement.

Haha, Stanford has an engineering distro req. I wish NU had that for nontech students. Then they could understand our pain.

HEY, MS&E is an engineering major!
<sob>
falkon - 19 Nov 2005, 04:16 pm
haha you wish!
We have a major here called Industrial Engineering that's basically the same major. We call them IE-Imaginary Engineers.
Doesn't make it any less difficult though. Just less.. techie.
falkon - 19 Nov 2005, 04:17 pm
Funny thing is.. my major is MS&E also.
Materials Science and Engineering
lilychu - 21 Nov 2005, 11:10 pm
Lol, haha yeah MS&E here used to be called Imaginary, I mean Industrial Engineering also. Materials Science...so you going to determine the composition of the JetPens?
falkon - 22 Nov 2005, 01:32 am
Jetpens members?
Definitely a thermoplastic polymer:
Hard to mix at first (with all the different writing utensil and habit preferences) but in the end, we all stick together.
lilychu - 22 Nov 2005, 08:35 pm
JetPens pens, but lol I like your decomp analysis of JetPens members. :D

I could go into that but it would just be drawn out and boring. Pigmentation is mostly organic chemistry stuff and there's not too many advanced materials used in pens :)

I just graduated with a BA in math and economics from University of Hawaii. I got a Hi-Tec C from one of the japanese exchange students. after I used it up, I ordered some. I used them because they have clean, crisp lines, and seemingly almost anyone can have beautiful handwriting with them, which is very good for math. Did i mention that I hated grading math homework?
Also used them, macroecon teacher let us bring in a page of notes for our exams, almost looked like that paper in the post. The rest of the class hated me for that, I could fit a whole chapter on half of the page, and just draw pictures on the rest.

Okay, I really need to know two things:
1. How did you take the time to organize all those notes like that?
2. Do you press down on your pens very hard? If not, how do you hold your pens?

next time use different highlighters to distinguish between each topic
or write different topics using different colors.. that way, it is soo much easier to find the topics in you index card
I hope my advice help you next time with you notes
