|
|
Lol, I basically need blue, black, green(not too dark/bright), and deep dark red(like what davinci used), for notes writing/ writing.
my problem is there are too many type, many brands, and different size.
Brand=?
Type= (gel ink, liquid ink, ballpoint)
Size= I don't know, right now i have a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil, so many I need 0.5 mm pen also? there are 0.3 should I try that?
Thank for any recommendation in advance. I am really clueless on this. |

| I prefer gel pens. My favorites are the Pentel Slicci .4 and the Uniball Signo DX .38 -- you won't find better writers anywhere! And I think it was sh00k on this board who raved about the Uniball Signo UM-100 in .5, so I finally bought one in blue-black -- it's terrific! |

I agree with piper 10, Signo DX pens are really nice, reliable writing pens. There is a colour, Bordeaux Black: http://www.jetpens.com/product_info.php/cPath/239_286_53/products_id/1546 That is a wonderful dark red, maroon. It might suit your dark red ink. The green in the Signo DX is also a nice shade. The ink is also waterproof when dry.
Slicci and Hi Tec C are very good pens too. The pen body of the Slicci is a bit thinner, so that might be something you will want to consider. Some don't seem to like that aspect. However, the colours are wonderful, and I really like how smoothly they write. The dark green from the Slicci might appeal to you. Hi Tec C pens come in a very large colour assortment. I like them a lot, though sometimes they might take a little bit of scribbling to get going if not in use for a while. If you decide on the hi tec c, you might want to go with the 0.4 or 0.5, as they are more reliable than the finer points for writing.
I think I would try a 0.38,0.4 or 0.5. They are a lot smoother for writing than the finer tips.
If you prefer ballpoints, I'd try a Jetstream. They write really smoothly, and the black ink is very dark.
I would recommend checking out some of the reviews on http://www.penaddict.com/. Brad does a really amazing job of featuring a variety of pens sold on Jet Pens, with writing samples and descriptions of each pen's performance. I think it's really useful, and might help you find the best fit for you.
Also, there is the Jet Pens Flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/689868@N22/ which has a lot of photographs of the pens and often writing and drawing samples that may be helpful too.
Good luck on your first order!
