Wow, you like the really fine points! Smile

I'll be curious to see what you think of everything, especially the Safari. I bought one of those recently, and I'm still trying to decide what I think of it!

went crazy, and bought a few more things. still waiting on some shipments to come in. i haven't gotten any of the uni signos in yet.. i cant wait to test those out.

the uni-ball shift drafting pencils are awesome. i love the weight of the pencil, and it helps keep my hand steady when i'm sketching.

slicci's are awesome, as usual. it's nice to have different colors, as i've been using black up until now.

i got a pentel sliccies, slicci multicolor pen that holds three refills. i dunno what it is about this pen, but i've NEVER had a problem with sliccis being scratchy and skipping, but for some reason, this multipen simply does not write well. it skips worse than any hi-tec-c i own. it's a little frustrating, but i'm glad it wasn't that expensive.

i got three pencil cases from jetpens.
1. kokuyo will stationery actic mini pencil case black.
this case is phenomenal. i've always had bigger cases/pouches, and i've always been a bag person even though i'm a guy. i've never been a big fan of big bags, so i have a variety of small backpacks, messenger bags, and lumbar packs. when i carry my north face and marmot lumbar packs, bigger pencil cases make my bag bulge. this pencil case fits perfectly. i keep a uni-shift, a slicci, a tombow eraser, and extra lead in this one, and it's nice and small

2. nomadic pd-03 upright stand case
i like this one, even though it's a little bit on the bigger side. this is my main "hold everything" pouch now. i fit 5 sliccis, 5 hi-tec-c's, a staed drafting pencil, and a whole bunch of other stuff nicely. eraser goes in the bottom compartment, and it stands well on its own. the big disappointment was that the pencil case, although japanese, was made in china. there's a big tag on the inside that says Made In China, and i dunno.. that just killed it a little. overall nice case

3. nomadic pd-04 roller pencil case
i thought it was a little funny that such a spacious case held so few writing tools, but i guess that was the point of this case. it's really nifty, and i really like it. my pricier stuff goes in here, mont blancs, a uni-shift, and a fine tip tombow mechanical eraser. again, made in china, somewhat disappointing. material felt a little cheap, but it's not bad

those are my thoughts for now. i really can't wait for the signos to come in. i hope they don't steal the slicci's thunder, because i really like sliccis. i'd prefer to use both in harmony rather than have one replace the other lol.

anyone have any other suggestions on pens i should give a shot?

*edit.
ah, i forgot to write about the lamy safari.
i actually bought this pen on the suggestion of a friend. i'm not used to fountain pens, and the only one i've owned until now was a mont blanc meisterstuck pen in black resin/platinum. mont blanc doesn't make any stick and pop refills, so i had to use a converter. i'm horrible with fountain pens, and i didn't really know how to use it, so i retired the mont blanc, and it just sits in my collection.

my friend told me he's gone through 3 lamy safaris over the past 10 years or so, so he told me if i picked one up, he'd show me how to use a fountain pen. i havent gotten a chance to talk to him yet, but when i write with it, the ink either doesnt come out well, or i press the nib down too hard and the ink blots like crazy. also, after a day of sitting, the tip sorta dried. i dunno if this is because the pen's new or if it's a defect of some sort.

anyhow, i like the way the safari looks. it was worth the 26 bucks just to have that sexy pen.

the um-153's are really nice to write with. i have 4 i think in various colors.

i also have the kuru toga but i dont use it... i stopped using all of my pencils.... i hate that scratchy feeling when writing on paper... it hurts my teeth.... it's like when someone scratches a black board with a metal tool/fork or something... =/

shipments coming in. here are my thoughts:

uni-ball signo dx um 151 .28 pens:
these pens are pretty nice. i have to admit, when it comes to hand comfort, these pens are the best of the popular fine liners (hi-tec-c and slicci). when writing, compared the the slicci however, it writes a lot thicker than the .25 slicci, even though the difference is only .03 in width.

uni-ball signo broad um-153 white ink:
nifty. i didn't use it much. bought it for my sister.

pilot foam eraser:
<3 this is a fantastic eraser. i like it a lot more than the tombow i got in my first order.

copic's:
i didn't use any of them. giving them to my sister.

uni-ball kuru toga:
god, this pencil is really nice. i really like the rotating mechanism. it's so cool to see the tip of the pencil lead showing the work the rotating barrel is doing. my only gripe is that i wish it was heavier, since i've been getting used to the heaviness of the uni-ball shift.

ple-ple pencil wrap:
this case is awesome. if i was a girl, i'd carry this around with no shame. it's going to my sister.
