Bought these as a gift for a girl who knows almost nothing about the world of
fine writing instruments, so I was worried they would not have much of an
impression on her. Boy, was I wrong. She tells me there is an obvious difference
to her between these pencils any anything she's used before, and that she would
never pick up a pencil of another kind again, so I would say the gift was a
I have tried these myself and they really are amazing for what they are. I am
more of a mechanical pencil person myself (I use a Rotring RapidPro every day),
but I could see why these are every wood pencil fan's gold standard.
This pen is all I hoped it would be. I wanted a small pen that I could carry in
my pocket, along with my keys, all day, every day. This pen, after carrying it
for a few weeks, fits be bill perfectly. It is already starting to gain a
beautiful patina, and the wear and tear on the pen only serve to increase its
The nib is about as smooth as can be and lays down a crisp line every time,
without skipping. I love the fine nib, but you can easily switch out any size
for about $20.
Yes, the pen is small. It's even smaller than I pictured it going by all the
pictures I had seen. But when posted, it fits perfectly in my hands (I am an
average size man). If you like large pens, you should know by now this pen is
not for you. It is made to be able to go unnoticed in a pants pocket.
I would recommend this pen to anyone who wants a fountain pen the don't have to
throwing in a pocket with keys or coins, or dropping (as long as it's capped),
yet wants a high quality pen that writes smoothly every time.
Very soft, yet stronger than any .5 lead I've used before. It's not great for
every day writing, due to the fact that you must extend the lead three clicks
about 7 times per sheet of college ruled paper, but it really is a joy to write
with in my Rotring 600. I can't stress the smoothness enough, even on cheap
paper. Very, Very dark lines, even on the first pass of the pencil. I've found
that it will smudge a little bit with repeated pass-overs with the side of a
hand or something, so maybe this isn't the lead for you lefties out there... But
overall, it's the best soft lead I've found to use in my .5 pencils. When this
vial runs out, another order will already be on the way:)
P.S. The tube design is amazing. If you are a fan of design like I am, you will
love the case. That sounds weird, but its just awesome!
This pencil if amazing. Nice and heavy, but not awkward. I highly reccomend it.
I purchased this pencil from JetPens about a month ago and recieved a faulty
product. Withing 12 hours of me contacting the costomer service, they had
responded and already placed a replacement in the mail. Guys, this company is
fantastic. Friendly, underpriced, three day shipping, and all around easy to
work with. If you are debating whether to buy from this company or take a risk
on ebay or amazon, don't. I will absolutely but from this company many, many
more times. Thanks, JetPens!
Very nice, very smooth lead. I use it every day with a Graphgear 1000 and
couldn't be hapier! The heaviness of the pencil and the softness of the lead
combine to creat an amazing writing experience. Perfect, unique size if you love
small lines. And the lead NEVER breaks. Get this lead!
