This set of fine tip...
July 21, 2014
This set of fine tip colored markers has been a personal favorite of mine for many years.
I keep two sets ready to hand in different rooms.
The colors are vibrant and last a long time. I have had a set of these for close to 8 years. Capped securely they last a very long time - good as brand new! If you like a fine tip then this is the set!

This is my absolute favourite 'turquoisy' ink ever. For me it is THE perfect turquoise color.

I am not happy that the company chose to re-name the ink since "South Seas Blue" really is what the ink looks like, but at least it remains the same beautiful color no matter what the name!

Excellent flow in most any pen that I have tried to using it in, but no it is not in the least waterproof . Unless noted 'water-resistant', 'bullet-proof' or some such thing most fountain pen inks are not water proof or water resistant so this quality is the norm rather than the exception.

I am a skeptic at heart...

I am a skeptic at heart and really could not see how this mechanism would really work, but I had to give it a try.

I bought the 0.5 package (see longer review there) and this inner version. These pencils have spoiled me. The mechanism works and the thought of going back to using a pencil that I have to rotate all of the time to get a sharp edge is not a happy one!

The 0.3 provides a very thin, fine line. I am using it when notes need to be longer and yet still fit into margin notes. The pencil is very lightweight - which is not a detriment. There are shaped ridges along the drip line that prevent your fingers from slipping on the smooth plastic surface. A cushioned grip would be wonderful, but it does not affect my preference for this pencil to others now.

Now I am curious what the difference is between this version and the more expensive one. ....I may have to find out.....

I tend to be a skeptic and wondered how this pencil would really work. I was perfectly happy with another pencil , but my curiosity got the best of me and so I ordered this as well as one in the 0.3 size.

I like a softer lead and was continually having to turn my pencil to get a good, clean, edge, so I thought that if this worked it would be great! Much to surprise this really does work, and it works well. No more turning the pencil to find a sharp edge. !

The pencil itself it very lightweight - which is not a bad thing. The grip is shaped/ridged, although it does not show up well in images - your fingers don't slip on smooth plastic. A cushioned grip would be wonderful, but it would not/will not effect my surprised delight in using this pencil.

This package deal is really excellent! This pencil may have spoiled me because using another pencil that does not maintain it's point would be difficult now!

This ink is wonderful!...

This ink is wonderful! I wanted something that would work well on dark surfaces and that would work well with a dip pen. This is it! It works perfectly - as well as a poster paint marker really. Although a dip pen is not recommended for use with this ink I have found that dip pens work beautifully with it - although I am careful to clean my nibs off immediately. I know I will be buying a larger bottle of this ink!

It would be really nice if there was a marker pen that has a very fine nib (like a Sharpie Extra fine poster paint marker)
