I am trying out the Coleto Orange in my Multi Pen for the first time. I wanted
a bright hue to use in my editing process. This orange is certainly a bright
color. It works as well as a highlight color as the red.
I have been using the Pilot Coleto Multi pens for a few years now and I like to
stock up on refills. I've been using the dark green in my color coding, but
always heard that the apple green was the favorite green. Usually it is sold
out here on jetpens. I managed to find it in stock this time and I'm pleased to
discover that this is a bright and happy green. I like the dark green too, but
I find that I like this brighter green better. I recommend either ink color for
I have a Coleto Multi Pen in silver that I've used for years. It is the exact
same size as my Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pen in gunmetal grey and the pair make
a great duo in my leather pen case. I wanted to create a similar pairing with a
purple Coleto and Plaisir and thus purchased this Coleto Pen. It works as well
as my original, the pens fit in the slots and the functioning of the pen is
flawless. However, the end cap is a new higher design and it is too tall to fit
into my pen case or match the Plaisir like my last Coleto did. I am not going
to return the pen, but I can not take it on the go as I wanted. I did not
realize that the end cap was so different when I read the description.
I love this little foldable template. I have plenty of full sized ones around
my art studio, but this one folds up and fits into my A5 journal with ease. Now
I have the power of templates when I'm on the go. Its been a fun little tool in
my planner and journals.
I am a fan of Pelikan 4001 Black and Turquoise ink. Both are wonderful in pens
that need a slightly drier ink to write well. I am not enamored of the red. I
found it thin, unsaturated and fading. There are many other better reds out
there, also in standard carts. Do yourself a favor and keep on testing new reds
and find something better than this one.
I bought this pen in order to pirate the medium italic nib and place it in my
Pilot Prera. However, I found the purple color so cheerful that I left the
medium nib from the Prera in it, gave it a converter and am now using it as a
fountain pen in my rotation. The plastic of the body is light and feels cheap,
I find that the carts and converters dry up faster than in my Prera, but
otherwise it is a nice little desk pen. As long as you are not too hard on it,
I think that it would prove to be a serviceable pen or a starter pen to see if
you like to use italic nibs.
Among artists, there are constant pen reviews of which pen gives the best "white
ink". Hands down, I think that this one is the bomb. It writes a smooth line,
the white is pure white and it gives great coverage over the paper. I use this
one over black ink or on black paper and the pen will produce the proper white
highlights that I need for my art journals. If you are looking for a great
white ink pen for an art journal. Stop. This is it.
I love my pilot coleto multi-pen. I pair it up with a fine fountain pen with
black ink and they both go with me everywhere. I like to use the coleto for
color coding and editing. Because of this, I find that the brown simply doesn't
work for me. It is a nice dark brown, almost black. The cart produces a
smooth, thin line that never skips. The quality is there, but I am not as fond
of the color as I thought I would be.
I love my pilot coleto multi-pen. It goes with me everywhere. I am not as
happy with this green as I could be. I think that I would prefer a brighter and
more cheerful hue than this dark green. However, it is dark, smooth, and never
skips. Just what you want in a pen. If you love darker greens, you might want
to try this one. If you prefer a more cheerful color, perhaps the apple green
would be more to your liking.
I love my Pilot Coleto pen. This red is the color I use the most since I edit
stories for my writing critique groups with it. The ink is dark, smooth and
puts down a smooth line. The only drawback is that the carts don't hold too
much ink. Considering they are part of a multi-pen system, I suppose that I
should not be surprised by this. Great color. You should try it out.
